Have you asked your dealer for a VIN? If they have one you can track it yourself

Just rang dealer. She says it is still showing "in production". Suggested I contact her in a week's time to see if there is an update.

I don't think Ive read a single person refer to their purchase of a Highline, as a Highline, in the 85+ pages of this thread!

However, someone who ordered a Comfortline adds the Luxury Pack for $5K (more than the R line option) - yet they all refer to the car as a Comfortline, not a luxury?

Get my angle? Yes? Great. No? All good.

Everyone calls it an R Line - but its a Highline. For the sake of forum harmony I will let it go . Its a small issue. Apologies if I ruffled any R line feathers.

If the post refers to a 162TSI (Highline implied for Aus) being delivered, first thing I would like to know is if it has the R-Line pack because it helps me adjust delivery/waiting time expectations for that forum member and could be relevant to the message itself.

The R-Line pack, as oppose to the luxury pack in your example above has a production delay element implied to it, that's why ppl refer their Tig as a R-Line here.

.. or maybe I am the only one here that has a thought pattern like that here?

How long do they take to build from the time they are handed to production?

From experience with my mk6 golf it was about a month till it leaves the production plant - same timeframe for the new Tiguan as well. See attached image.

My guess would be between 1 and 2 weeks. This would allow the paint to dry as well as assembly. As short as 4 days to as long as 8 days.

Referring to my NADCON, it took nearly a month from "Handover to Production" in Nov end to "Start Body Shell Shop" in Dec end.

"End Body Shell Shop" ends the next day and on that same day was "Start/End Paint Shop" and "Start Final Assembly".

Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales on following day.

It's arrrrrrrrrrrrrrived! The technology is overwhelming. We've just done 100 km, but already very, very impressed. Had been teaching the salesman about Kessy...., but he told me the car lowers itself with 15mm in Sportsmode, which I didn't know yet... Will do some more testing after dinner... LOL

I enjoy music at home and do not understand people "enjoying" loud music in such a small sub optimum space like a car cabin.

Loud music is not the same as clarity and immersion.
Good sound system also has clearer and tight low frequency reproduction when listening at lower volume.
But each to their own, some people has ears that are just picky
