I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Strange... From the email sent from VW showing the status of my order... my original R-line picture has been replaced with the highline model????

Anyone else notice this change on their status?

(I know it's kind of desperate, but I have an urge to check every couple of days for changes...)

Just after some second opinions about getting a 162 TSI Highline with the Comfortline rims/tyres instead for $52.35k (so I can fit snow chains) - Personally I think the Comfortline rims look better but not sure if it could affect resale & driving dynamics and what a fair change in purchase price would be? (Comfortline rims/tyres would be a lot cheaper but there is the swap over cost...)

Just buy some aftermarket (or second-hand OEM) rims to put on when you go to the snow. Problem solved.

I think our car is off the west coast of Africa aboard the Don Juan. It may have sunk because it is out of tracking range.
The ship is due to dock in East London-----[google it] in 7 or 8 days, then head to Melbourne by the 7thh Jan. A couple of weeks to get through customs for plating, then to Geelong and it should be ours. Maybe.

I haven't ordered this model but I just checked and did notice that the status on the website has changed to shipping even though I haven't received an email update yet.

Wirh reference to REGS12 post

Exactly the same as our car. On the Don Juan - it will show up on tacking again in about 5 days. Once in Melbourne it will also be travelling to Geelong for its pick up around the end of the month. I've said to the sales person I expect to see them around Australia Day.

Cool. Mine is due to arrive exactly a week today If traffic wasn't so bad at the moment would try and do a drive by the wharf.
Has you dealer told you how long it normally takes from the car arriving to it being ready for collection?

The official date I got was the 22nd. It seems they take a week to prepare the cars for delivery/collection, including doing repairs of damages that (may have) occurred from the long trip. I wasn't aware until recently that we're actually getting the very first ones in New Zealand, with that it means it's also the very first series ("introductory volume") that Volkswagen built.

I'm reading on a German VW forum, and following their experiences of (earlier and current) deliveries, with minor changes made already, like more USB slots and a higher speed for the ACC (200+ instead of up to 160km/h) which isn't relevant for us in NZ and Australia, but also a 2.5% increase in price, and huge waiting lists forming.

The official date I got was the 22nd. It seems they always take a week to prepare the cars for delivery/collection, including doing repairs of damages that (may have) occurred from the long trip. I wasn't aware until recently that we're actually getting the very first ones in New Zealand, with that it means it's also the very first series ("introductory volume") that Volkswagen built.

I just heard back from dealer just now. The boat is due in the 22nd and they reckon they will have it 23/24th which is pretty quick but guess it only has to travel from the port to the North Shore. Also confirmed that VW definitely want these registered in December so no luck with getting it as a 2017 rego.
Only issue is I am away from the 22nd until about the 27th so will have to wait until I am back before I can get it.

The boat mine is on (Parsifal which is due at Auckland on the 22nd) does head to Australia straight afterwards. As to whether there are any Tiguan's on it for you guys that I don't know.
