Since "extended warranty" is on the cars specification/construction list, as "EA0 Without follow on warranty", it almost suggests to me that cars with/without extended warranty are built to different standards...

Number plates - what's the standard plate the dealer will put on your car in NSW? The RMS site still says the black on yellow is standard (that's hideous) but i thought most cars these days had the black on white? Anyway, about to send an email to dealer requesting they don't put any of their branding on/around the plate.

PS my 162TSI (on TOSCA) has just left Melb and arrives in NSW tomorrow so hopefully get it in a few weeks.

That's a really good price. I ordered a 162TSI in Pure White with DAP, R-Line, Sunroof, boot liner, and boot strip protector for 56500 DA with corporate discount. The car was originally due in May but the the dealership sent me an email today saying it is now due in Melbourne at the end of March.

So I got an update from my dealer today on my Tiguan and NADCON is showing that the car has been handed over to production on the 22/12 but won't exit the production plant till the 27/1 so will this make it a 2016 build or 2017 built vehicle?

That's a really good price. I ordered a 162TSI in Pure White with DAP, R-Line, Sunroof, boot liner, and boot strip protector for 56500 DA with corporate discount.

My initial thoughts were "********, no way". But if you got that price, good luck to you. I guess you have to wait for 6 months but still.. best price I have seen so far, by far.

And to be fair, my mrs got 16.5% off a MKVI GTI when they launched.. no one believed that happened when we got it, so I know its possible. I barely got half that this time around.. oh the pain..

It should be a 2017 as time should start from when car leaves the factory.. Don't think it really matters though.. in terms of what specs/car you will get, will all depend on the MY number.

So an MY17 built in December or January will have absolutely no difference in terms of resale, desirability in the second hand market etc.. Unless there is a material difference like an increase in power, new design of bumper bar etc when the MY changes.. This is real world take on it.

Yeah I guess I got lucky - as I said in another post,
I originally picked black and was happy with 59600 but the Mrs wanted me to change to white thinking I would get 700 back due to being non metallic paint - the sales manager had to draw up new contracts and came back with 56500 - I just shut up and signed on the dotted line...

You're right. I have found that it's the condition of the car when you sell/trade in that matters. If you look after the car you will be rewarded come trade in or selling time. My habits have been to get it serviced on time, garage/undercover at night, avoid shopping centre and other such car parks and never take it through an automatic car wash if you can help it - doing it yourself will keep the paintwork swirl free. These habits have helped me get way above the average value for my past three cars.

Roughly when can we expect the changeover to the MY18 cars? I am thinking of ordering in the next couple of months for a third quarter delivery.
