I like the styling and the look of the Evoque but many including me will look at the LR as a less reliable and more costly ownership than the Tiguan, especially in the longer term.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

I agree, and Landrover have definitely had reliability issues in the not too distant past, although with the injection of cash from the Tata purchase hopefully this is now behind them. Still, I was concerned enough about it to negotiate a five year warranty and five years servicing into the price of my Disco Sport. However, after that I'm on my own, and depending on how it goes for the first five years I may decide to sell at that point.Originally posted by Transporter View PostI like the styling and the look of the Evoque but many including me will look at the LR as a less reliable and more costly ownership than the Tiguan, especially in the longer term.Last edited by PerthMTB; 08-09-2016, 03:32 PM.

Just read this interesting article/review from NZ: Introducing the very personable second-generation Volkswagen tiguan
According to the article Tiguan sales overtook Golf sales for the month of August for the first time ever!
This was partly due to the large number of pre-orders, however the article did go on to say that VW is expecting the Tiguan to become their #1 selling car in NZ.

Thanks mate, glad they have put it in as standard. Seems to be an option for the UK and i was worried since VWA have deemed us not eligible for alot of the options, that we wouldn't be offered it. Would be nice to see highline or even just the r line with the Dynaudio as standard since it isnt an option. Id pay 2k more for itOriginally posted by tigger73 View PostOK Here's the infotainment specs

If you jump on youtube there's some video reviews of the new head units. They have been out in Mk7 Golfs for some time.Originally posted by Regdop View PostThanks tigger73... as a VW newbie this info doesn't mean a lot. Do yo have any more info/links about the differences?... cheers
The Trendline gets the basic unit which does have App-Connect to display your phone on the head unit.
The Comfortline gets the same unit with Sat-Nav.
The Highline gets the "Pro" unit. Based on what the UK gets this will include DVD playback and a TFT display which I'm guessing is a higher resolution than the Composition Media units

Just looking at the specs for the NZ models and ours are slightly different:Originally posted by tigger73 View PostOK Here's the infotainment specs:

Comfortline: 8.0-inch Composition Media infotainment system + Satellite-navigation with App-Connect
Highline: 8.0-inch Discover Pro satellite-navigation system with App-Connect
Entry Level 2WD TSI Comfortline and Highline gets 8.0 Inch Composition Media with no Nav
4Motion TSI and TDI Highline gets 8.0 Inch Discover Media with Nav
162TSI R Line get 8 Inch Discover Pro with Nav
The DYNAUDIO upgrade option is only available for the Discover Media or Discover Pro systems. Since you have more models using the Composition Media system I wonder if that is why VW Aus doesn't offer the DYNAUDIO option since it wouldn't be available for the Trendline or Comfortline?

Damn, I wish these cars were more customisable in Australia.
A 132TSI Trendline with LED headlights would have been what I was after for best bang for buck.
To get LED headlights you need to go TOP spec! arrg, going back to halogen headlights is horrible and makes the car look so dated.

Yeah, I agree. I'm going for a 162TSI Highline anyway, but I think LED headlights should be standard through the whole range. I know it would cost a bit more but it would make every Tiguan a mobile billboard for a quality car. Instead, the first ones to hit the road are going to be boring looking vehicles with halogen headlights.Originally posted by Zakarados View PostDamn, I wish these cars were more customisable in Australia.

Do you know if the Discover Pro has DAB? i.e will it show song and artist details for songs played on the radio? This seems like a stock standard feature in Europe (all of the cars I have driven in Germany have it) but it's not as common here.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostOK Here's the infotainment specs:

In the UK brochure the Composition Media unit has DAB, but it doesn't indicate this is a feature on the Discover Pro (I'm guessing it is but can't confirm). I think we'll have to wait until the Oz specs/brochure is released for the full details.Originally posted by Gladbach View PostDo you know if the Discover Pro has DAB? i.e will it show song and artist details for songs played on the radio?
