Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Will compare with the New 2026 Toyota RAV4 AWD Plug-In Hybrid GR Sport - 235 KW / 400 NM for a 0 - 100 in 5.8 secs

150kw is likely the replacement for the 132/140kw Mk2 version and the 195 is the replacement for the 162. Be interested to know if the 195 is the MK8/8.5GTI engine (EA888.3) or a version of the EA888.4. I suspect the former.

I watched a review on the new Tiguan 195TSI last night. Looks like a nice car but the elephant in the room is the price....

The review I watched said the engine was straight out of the Mk8.5 Golf GTI.

        EA88.4 looks bloody interesting:

Volkswagen's all-new Tiguan has landed with more tech, more equipment and a new look. So, is it better than the outgoing model?

MK8/8.5 GTI in Australia retains the EA888.3 engine, even in MK8.5 195kw form. No reason to believe the 195 Tiguan has a different engine.
