Again, I still don't get it... How come the standard single-pot calipers with any brand/type of aftermarket rotors + disks size 340x30, could be better in performance than the oem 356x34 2-pot set I decided to fit.

And, it may look a small size upgrade (from 340x30 to 356x34), but with the better caliper (2-pot) there should be significantly better performance in comparison to the stock ones now.

Well it depends on what you’re classifying as ‘performance’.

Sure - Yes what you’ve done - slightly bigger disk and one more piston per caliper might give you a bit more clamping pressure - but push your car hard for more than a few hard stops e.g spirited driving through hills or more so on a track - and the stock pads & rotors will start to fade very quickly.

Anyway just my opinion. See how they go, just suggesting to fit some ‘upgraded’ pads/rotors.

I need to paint the rear ones now, in order to match the color of the front new R ones.

Does anyone know if there is a specific color code for Golf/Tiguan R, blue calipers?

Edit: I just found out what the colour code is.... It's VW RAL 5002 ULTRAMARINE BLUE.

Hi all, the operation "R front brakes" has been completed.

Rear calipers were painted the same colour as the new R ones.

Hi,i got the same brake kit but mine are red because they are the GTI Clubsport version.We tried them on today but no luck..the brake hoses and speciffically the banjo bolts of the tiguan did not match the caliper.As it seems,the CS or R caliper uses 12mm banjo bolts rather than the 10mm banjo bolts of the Tiguan..can you confirm this?I saw in a earlier post that you also swapped to the original R brake hoses because of this problem.I mean,the brake hose of the R caliper still connects to the hard brake line?

Hi Erik, the GTI Clubsport front brakes, the red ones you state, are 340x30 size, which is identical to the OEM of my Tiguan Allspace 2.0 BiTDi 240HP version.

So, it seems that my version with already the "GTI Clubsport front brakes", has the necessary brake hoses that fit directly to the highest "R" version bigger brakes.

That's why when I installed the "R" brakes size 356x34, no further action needed to be done, apart from new calipers + rotors + pads + shields.

Check again your GTI Clubsport front brakes, the red ones you state, are they size 356x34 (as you think) or 340x30 size (as I believe they really are)?

Marios, my red calipers are the same as your blue ones.The rotors are the same as yours and not the 340mm version but the 357mm version.My original rotors are the 340mm which will be replaced by the 357mm and the 2 pot calipers.But did you use your original brake hoses from the Tiguan or the R caliper brake hoses?Even the dustshields are bigger and have air vents.

Well, in that case, I'll have to ask my local dealer who fit the kit on my car, if the brake hoses of the R were included in the kit I bought or the existing ones of the car were used.

You'll have to wait till Monday morning mate.

Marios,the only way this makes sence that is that your original calipers were the clubsport ones and mine just the GTI ones.Yours with already the beefier brakehoses and mine with some smaller ones because i definately have to change my old brakehoses.
But still thanks for the info..if you could just let me know on monday..it would be a great help.

The rotors of a clubsport S golf 7 are indeed 340mm and drilled.The golf 8 gti cs as the golf 8R have the 357mm drilled rotors..i believe.

And mine is from 2017 and yours is 2019?

Well,the calipers and rotors are finally installed.All i needed were the original brake hoses from the 2 pot calipers because of the 12mm banjo bolt.The rear brake hoses from the Tig were a direct bolt on.
