Surprisingly, I cannot find country of manufacture. There is a similar sign as #17 per the link Lucas shared which indicates identification for country as Brazil.
My Contis have "Made in Germany" on the sidewall on one car and the Hankooks have Made in Hungary that are on the Tiguan.
If the tyres are asymmetrical (that is mounted with the word outer or outside) facing you as mounted on the rim, the country of manufacture maybe on the inside wall.

It should be on there somewhere, might even be in the side edge of the tyre which will make it hard to read.
I found DOT code on the side of the tire. First three code tells us the country of manufacture and per Google 1AF is Portugal.
So looks like it is made in Portugal
I have the Hankook S1 Evo 3 tyres on my Golf GTI currently and will more than likely put them on my wifes Audi SQ5 later this year once the current tyres reach replacement time.
The Hankooks review quite well and i have no issues with them whatsoever. Good grip in both wet and dry, and low noise. And they have a treadwear rating of 320 so a good balance between grip and longevity.
The Hankooks are also regularly on sale through Jax tyres in either a buy 4 but pay for 3 deal, or as they were in January as a buy 4 and get $150 cashback.
OK, I had Contisport 6 on mine as a replacement for the 5s. Easy choice as the tyre place got them for me at $350 a pop. No issues with them wet or dry. Needs warming up (10km) before they drive their best as well as be quiet.

Thanks guys. I will give the Conti a miss as I have them now and they wear way too quickly for just standard city driving
I will check out the Hankooks as I had them on a previous SUV and they lasted 90k km. How much did you pay all up for 4 Hankooks?
Out of these 3, which is the best tyre (travels most km's, low noise, good grip in wet) for the cheapest price?
(1) Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV | (2) Hankook S1 Evo 3 | (3) Michelin Primacy 4 ?
Tyre Rotation
Is there a particular rotation sequence that is recommended by VW? (i.e. front to back | left to right ...)
