Hi guys.
It's time to replace 2 tyres on my 2018 132tsi in Perth which came with Hankook 215/65/r17. My local doesn't have the Hankook but offered conti 5 (i believe non suv given the size) for $195 each. I'm wondering if I should track down the Hankook's or are there better options? I'm not too fussed about price given these are way cheaper than the larger size tyres I used to own so don't mind paying a bit more for a better tyre. The car does 80% city driving and the rest highway and is rarely used offroad.
Thanks Mr Gee. They all look fairly similar from the reviews both positive and negative feedback. Pirelli Verde seem to review well 4/5 yet only 54% (a bit higher for the all terrain) would buy again which is a bit weird.
The Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3’s are very good for the price, and rate quite well on that guys reviews. I have these tyres on my Golf GTI and am happy with them.

I didn't know they had a evo 3, I have been happy with the 2s so far. The Goodyear looks pretty good to.
My Conti SC5 looked a little worn at 40K so checked out the usual but these were in the mid $400s. Then my tyre guy told me he could get Conti CSC6 Mo for #350 ea. No contest..so far, they have been exemplary and quieter to boot.
Australian version of the tyre test using Hyundai Tuscon in 2020
Conti PC6 won, and going past tests Conti appears to be consistently in the top3. For me its always been about wet weather handling and braking as that's usually the only time you are nearing the limits of the tyre adhesion in day to day driving.
It also has decent wear (for a performance tyre) making the $/km a lot better than some of the other options which will wear out in 20,000km (Bridgestones, Continentals, etc).
Which would you recommend between these 2 for a Tiguan 162 Highline: Michelin Primacy 4 or Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV ?

Personally I'd go the Michelin after experience with Michelin Primacy 3 ST's for their lack of road noise, fairly good grip (I don't hard) in the wet and life.
Unfortunately my experiences with Goodyear over 43 years of motoring have been memorable for the wrong reasons.
