I think rotation depends if they are directional in which case you can only go from back to front on the same side

The Hankooks review quite well and i have no issues with them whatsoever. Good grip in both wet and dry, and low noise. And they have a treadwear rating of 320 so a good balance between grip and longevity. Thanks guys. I will give the Conti a miss as I have them now and they wear way too quickly for just standard city drivingOriginally posted by mr gee View PostOK, I had Contisport 6 on mine as a replacement for the 5s. Easy choice as the tyre place got them for me at $350 a pop. No issues with them wet or dry. Needs warming up (10km) before they drive their best as well as be quiet.
I will check out the Hankooks as I had them on a previous SUV and they lasted 90k km. How much did you pay all up for 4 Hankooks?
Out of these 3, which is the best tyre (travels most km's, low noise, good grip in wet) for the cheapest price?
(1) Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV | (2) Hankook S1 Evo 3 | (3) Michelin Primacy 4 ?
Tyre Rotation
Is there a particular rotation sequence that is recommended by VW? (i.e. front to back | left to right ...)Last edited by FastMitch; 03-02-2023, 07:09 PM.

The Hankooks are also regularly on sale through Jax tyres in either a buy 4 but pay for 3 deal, or as they were in January as a buy 4 and get $150 cashback.

Tyre Rotation
My stock tyres on my Tiguan Highline are starting to wear

New Tyres
Which is better for replacement tyres, the Michelin Primacy 4 SUV or Michelin Primacy 5 SUV?

I found DOT code on the side of the tire. First three code tells us the country of manufacture and per Google 1AF is Portugal.
So looks like it is made in Portugal

That's perfectly acceptable. If they were 4 or 5 years old then I wouldn't be happy, but a great price for a newly manufactured tyre is great.Originally posted by Sudoku View PostIt's 0422. 4th week of 2022 i.e. Jan 2022 almost an year old tyre.
Thanks Lucas for educating. Appreciate your help.
It should be on there somewhere, might even be in the side edge of the tyre which will make it hard to read.Originally posted by Sudoku View PostSurprisingly, I cannot find country of manufacture. There is a similar sign as #17 per the link Lucas shared which indicates identification for country as Brazil.

In theory it will be on the sidewall.
My Contis have "Made in Germany" on the sidewall on one car and the Hankooks have Made in Hungary that are on the Tiguan.
If the tyres are asymmetrical (that is mounted with the word outer or outside) facing you as mounted on the rim, the country of manufacture maybe on the inside wall.

The build date is moulded into the sidewall. Its quite small. Its a week/year, so it might say 1821 meaning 18th week of 2021.Originally posted by Sudoku View PostGot the car back. New tyres are version 5, continental sports contact 5 same as factory fitted model.
How do I check the build date of the tyres?
