The Skoda version has been available for over a month I think

Dont know why they are identical files just with different names Have been using Skoda ones in my Tig for over two years ans they usually are about 6 weeks ahead of VW

Could probably download and compare md5 checksums.

I've deleted the Skoda files, but can always download them again using the office Internet connection =D

No need to, have confirmed multiple times that the two are the same and the units are the same and they all work together

Hi guys, has anyone updated the maps using an external hard drive? I'm just short on space, have a 32GB MicroSD, which doesn't quite fit the latest update. Not sure if the DiscoveryPro will recognise an external drive.

Try it but the unit may not have enough power to run one is the only thing stopping it I have got the map on a 32 GB card ok with about 400mb to spare U arent using a ****house MAC are you Buy a 64GB card then as you may need it again they are pretty cheap.

Nice, thanks HillB. Yes, I'm using ****hot Mac , I think the partition tables are slightly different compared with a Winbox, probably explains it. Will post the findings.

Yep thats the problem do it on a real computer and it will fit as has been proved innumerable times Those thing stuff up the file tables and car wont read it and the extra **** stops it from fitting on a 32gb card. Go back through the thread there is a program for unzipping on Devils spawn that fixes that

You mean Linux? I've never met a decent tech who prefers windoze over Mac or Linux =P

Banter aside... @mrfresh - I formatted my map update SD card on Linux using mkfs... I think the Mac equivalent is diskutil. IIRC - it just needs to be a fat compatible format.

p7zip ('7za x <file>' command) can handle extraction of large files with ease.

FWIW - I also just spin up a VirtualBox VM whenever I need to touch windoze software. Helps to contain the gnarliness to a short-lived VM.

Just follow reply 255 and wont cost anything as the unit probably wont read what the MAC puts on the card Dozens of posts about the same failure

Definitely had to get a larger capacity, as drag and drop of extracted files to a 32GB resulted in capacity errors. Confirm all working, I did have to use CleanMyDrive to wipe (clean) the external of trash/spotlight folder etc. Tried doing this natively in MacOS by turning on hidden files in the terminal, but still didn't 'quite' clean it.

Anyone else doing updates with a Mac, drop me a PM - happy to assist. I think I've driven Hillbilly mad already

- Running MacOS 12.5.1
- Used Archive Utility (Native Mac compress/uncompressor) to extract the download.
- Tried unhiding hidden files/folders and deleting but doesn't work. CleanMyDrive2 is your best bet.

Not driving me mad . Im rolling around laughing. Been updating maps for 11 years without a failure.

I use a Mac and the update works perfectly each time. I use Keka for the unzip, and 'clean my drive' before ejecting the flash drive (USB C for the T-Roc). I use the same procedure (except using an SD card) for the Polo GTi and my wife's A4. Works each time without fail.
