Map update?

My MY18 Tig came with 2017 maps installed, and I’m trying to work out if there is a newer version available. I’m pretty sure there should be a 2018 version by now?

I have downloaded the DiscoverCare app on my iMac, but cannot work out how to download the Aus map. The Aus map is contained in a ROW file that is over 24gb, and clearly includes a hell of a lot of countries I don’t need!

Has anyone worked this out?

Latest map update I recently downloaded is V.03.959.801.ED 0065 ROW 2017/2018. I had to use the app to download the whole 24GB ROW map onto a new SD Card to transfer to car.

Thanks Chalnoth - that's the one I have downloaded. Did you just extract the entire zip file onto the root of the SD Card and put it into the car?

After downloading discovercare what market is applicable, I’m guessing multi region map 2 for media gen 2. Is this correct. ???
also what navigation system did you download as the discover media has a later update compared to the descover pro.

As awesome as this is, I prefer Google Maps. "OK Google" works so much better than the VW Discover Media's voice recognition.

I actually swapped phones from a long time iPhone user to a Samsung S8 just so that Google Maps works.

What do you guys use? Google Maps, iMaps or VW Discover Media?

If you have an Android you can also download waze which is quite good.

My Tiguan has a Discover Pro and not the Discover Media. Thank you Ajdean for the link. I have bookmarked it and installed the Discovercare software. My current map is the latest according to VW. I will check back later in January 2018 to see if the Discover Pro maps have been updated. I understand VW updates these maps twice a year.

How do you know if you have Discover Pro or Discover Media?

I have a row of buttons left and right and two dials so I assumed I had Discover Media but on second thoughts, I think it is a Discover Pro.

VW have maps version 8/8/17 on their website but the DiscoverCare App only updates to May 2017. Why would that be?
