Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    ^ note that the green pad technically has a larger pad surface area because the edges are not chamfered and no centre line down the middle to greatly reduce the chance of squeeling and to help expel gas, water and dust. So for a street car where you want a quiet pad, the pads in the bottom picture would be the much better option.

      2EF = 310mm Dia x 22mm width ventilated discs
      Are those PR codes common across all VAG variants, or are the Tiguan specific ?

        They are vehicle specific but many vehicles may have the same codes. Your build will have dozens of PR codes, ask your dealer for a printout of your "Vehicle Data".

        My printout is 6 pages long of very small print.

          Done that already, but my car came with different brakes (I fitted the 340/310 combo), so just curious if the PR codes are common

          The codes for my Leon V are Front:1ZA & Rear:1KE.

          It looks like the codes for Cupra are different, as the Formentor rotors are Rear:1LD & Front: either 1X0, 1X1, 1KD or 0N4

            A few weeks back looking for rotors and pads for my 140 TSi Sport T-ROC I found thanks to Lucas_R 2 options for the front ceramic pads - P58147N (Acoustic Wear) and P85126N (Electronic Wear) ..... these wear indicators were the only difference noticed.

            I'd hazard a guess that with the R that would be the difference also.

            Can't get onto the brembo site to qualify
