does anyone have real life experience as to wether its worth having a DPF delete? my V6 is already tuned and EGR limited, but im having lots of regen failures. Will coring the DPF and adjusting the tune cause any issues ?

my car is a '21 Year 580 highline. Asking this hypothetical to understand if theres a large decrease in fuel used, and reliability (no oil dilution) ??

Black smoke coming out the exhaust

Food for thought. Im pretty sure you cant disable the EGR without also removing/disabling the DPF so this may be the issue you are having. When I tuned my Audi SQ5 TDI, I wanted the EGR blanked off and we tried to do a stage 1 tune + EGR delete and I started having DPF issues immediately after that. We tried several tune revisions but it just wouldn't work. They advised that in my car you need to remove both the EGR and DPF together along with a tune. SO if thats the case for my 2015 model car, I dare say its the same or even harder on a newer car.

Hi Lucas.. yes, that makes sense, though i was led to believe the egr isnt blanked, all they do is adjust the range it is triggerred to way outside its parameters? in any case, the dpf clogs and its annoying as hell. what im a little scared of it potential warrranty issues. Look at whats going on with toyota class action, VW must be startng a war chest to deal with any potential similar actions..

damned DPF. my 2016 discovery didnt even have one

I would get whoever tuned it to put the EGR parameters back to factory spec and then it should allow the DPF to do what it needs to do. The V6 Amarok's want to do a regen every 300km or so from what I have seen.

Regarding your warranty, you have already tuned the ECU so you have kissed your engine/drivetrain warranty goodbye with that. So you may as well either revert back to a basic stage 1 tune and put the EGR parameters back to stock, or go all out and remove the DPF etc.

Sell it and order the new "fake" Amarok with the Mustang's 2.3 turbo petrol 4. It won't have any DPF/EGR issues and as a bonus will be faster too

Hey Sharkie, ive considered that, but the price is stoo steep for whats on offer. besides the diesel will be better towing, which is after all why i bought it. such is life.. im sure the polarised people (EV) will be pushing to ban all our cars within a decade...

Not sure why anyone would tamper with the exhaust system. I've got an M21 V6 manual transmission that overtakes Rav4's and any other auto 4WD's going uphills. Nissan Patrols don't stand a chance. And that's towing a camper trailer.

NKOTB once you start getting continual dpf blockages, revisit that statement. Mines a feb21 deliverded off the boat Rok..

As for my decision, ive decided not to. im going to return the sound system to std, put the OEM wheels back on (With their brand new rubber) and sell it.

Up to 81,000km’s on a 2021 V6, and have not had one DPF issue.

last issue i had was on a 150klm trip towing a 10*6 700kg trailer. doing 100khr , and trust me @HaydEN, i drive it plenty hard. 4 wheel drifts can be fun in the wet i drive it up a 1.2klm, 100M altitude change hill daily, and most driving at 80khr and below, or long trips at 100.

I have a '18 Aventura V6 that I've had DPF deleted and tuned with the Manta setup since 2020. I've had (as above, touch wood) zero problems, I'd say it's all good apart from giving it the jandal from standstill to redline. Then you can see a bit of smoke out the back - but nothing ott.
Km's are in the mid 40 thous so I don't do much travelling but when I need to tow, carry a couple 100kgs in the tub, or just drag someone off it's all smiles.
As far as I've seen, no more often fuel stops, no dash lights, no unreliability with the rig. Apart from the stone age infotainment system not responding to touch.
Also sounds a lot better all round and yes there is a minimal increase in smell on startup but in my opinion if you're purposely hanging around an operating tailpipe then maybe have a wee think. Hope this helps mate

To be honest, on average mostly no. It is a bit better on the fuel but nothing significant. I don't do many trips over the daily 20km commute to work so that's probably why. If you're doing quite a few long boys then you'd notice it and I'd expect in a good way.
