Hey Brian. Nice choice of colour. I went into Norris VW at Kedron on Gympie Rd on the weekend and out a deposit on a White ED40. I got quoted $55910 drive away. I plan to go to 2 other dealerships in Brissy to try and get a bet.

I'm curious as to what price you got driveaway? I'd like another comparison to go off.

Hey mate, give Jamie Boreham a call at Northstar VW (Redcliffe). Can honestly say it's the best dealership I've dealt with in my 45 years of buying cars. And I believe he has another white one on the way which is not spoken for yet.

Good luck with the trades, guys. For the RS Megane, I went in looking for 35k got 26 back for a 55k outlay in Nov 13. Tried to sell privately for a month with only one enquiry. The 2nd hand market is dead. On a brighter note I did get the car (GTI40) for 52k drive away. DSG no roof, no extras, which I refuse to pay over 2k for a polish and fabric spray. I'll get the windows tinted for 200 bucks next week.

Yes but I am not in a hurry, I still have a GTI and R32 to drive. It does give me time to stock up on the bits I want to buy for it. Already bought black badges and K&N filter and will modify the airbag when it comes in for better air flow.

Hi Bassik, yeah I do mate. I still love my car and would not have thought about trading it in until I heard about the ED40. I guess I'm a die hard GTI fan. I know there are other great cars out there but I just love the GTI. This is the longest I've ever kept a car haha.

You got a great deal for $55.5. I would not take the sunroof anyway but I'd like that price with perhaps the paint and inside protection. is anyone taking those options. What are people thoughts? I got paint, interior and a 5 year maint agreement for scratches, dents and cracks for $2380

Got them form Eurobadgez.com, I bought some for my current MK7 GTI and the quality was good. Yes the K&N is the same for a GTI and R.

I also got the side guard badges which are black on black and these should look good too.

I also want to get the "Clubsport" door decals out of Europe to replace the 40 years, but haven't found any yet.

Thats a very good price.

I recently bought an Alltrack from them and have referred a few customers, so they tend to look after me.

Most dealers are selling at full list and as of Saturday there only seems to be 5-6 left here.

That is a good price however that is a manual with no roof I'm assuming? So a near $4k off

Brian, these guys seem to be agreeing with your findings I may say, a lot!

As I wrote in the other thread, a drive like that is the whole point of owning a car like the Clubsport. In the city, or typical highway trip you probably won't feel much, but it takes just one hard drive in such conditions for the car to wake up and leave you with a satisfaction and a smile on your face for days, and for anyone craving things such as feed-back, precision, agility while still being in a fully daily car this is priceless.

I traded my 2013 MK7 Golf GTI for 26K, I paid $41K new Nov 2013. Looks like the Megane's drop like a stone

GTI Edition 40 / Clubsport Thread

Does anyone know how the 10sec boost function actually works on the 40th? I keep hearing different stories. One is that you only get it at top rpm. Some say 3rd gear and others say you get it whenever you put your foot flat down. Then lastly I heard, you can't really feel it as it's seamless and undetectable so wasn't worth noting?

What owners experience?
