Appears to be no LED ambient lighting on front doors plus no front sensors... Why not?

I also read on another forum there is no ambient lighting...

Some details of what we get and what we lose over the GTI P model. I would have liked the front parking sensors and the interior led lights but very happy to lose the tartan cloth!

All very true and I got this print out from the dealer as well. But come on, no LED Ambient lighting...wtf. Whats that for 20grams for wiring and LEDs lol.

Don't mind me there are some awesome pluses but at $55k you can get a second hand R with a lot more and a constant 206kw.

Uniqueness = Clubsport
Value for Money = R

Really depends what you want it for... personally for me I like the rarity and the re-sell value but will still wait to test drive before anything else. My massive concern is the alcantara cloth as this makes my blood run cold and can't stand the touch of it, I really need suss this out. I should see if the GTi Performance model shares the same cloth.

Wonder if Australian models will get the performance monitor as per image, I know it will be fitted on MY17 GTi and R models.

You'll need a pair of driving gloves, then, as the steering wheel is Alcantara covered. (As you're probably fully aware)

That's upset my day. Went back through the specs, and I suspect you are right. Along with the ambient lighting omission, that's very disappointing

Just ordered some car care goodies in preparation for the alcantara interior. Also planning to buy some fresh wipes to keep in the glove box to wipe my hands on before touching the wheel. I don't think thats too obsessive is it?!? I want it to stay mint condition!!

Oh I am aware just wanna get an idea of it as some cloth doesn't effect me.

Kinda sucks we have to wait until someone on here gets there's first so we get actual Aust images. Once they do then we'll get all types or reviews and images etc.

I believe its +2k for DSG over manual + another 1850 for the roof.
MRSP then is 47K - manual +ORC, 49K - DSG +ORC, +1850 extra for roof option, +500 for the metalic charcoal. All gestimate figures of course but get the exact figures from your friendly dealer.
BTW dealer rang today to say my car is in Brisbane now at the wharves. Should get it by end of next week. Now I'm excited!!

Any more news on when you might take delivery? Any pics at the dealer? Keen to see Aus delivery cars and 40 Years on side strips.
