Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

      The Special Edition has an Akrapovic Exhaust (handmade, titanium), Upgraded front rotors and brake pads, the Pretoria wheels. Saves about 15kgs. Upgraded stereo, which is part of the options pack anyway. Also, no soundaktor file in the Special Edition. It is quite a bit faster than the M3.

        Can anyone confirm if it’s a full turbo back akra exhaust on the special ed? I was chatting to a dealer who’s had one on a hoist and reports it’s only the muffler and tips?

          Do you mean there is no Soundaktor “active” on the SE? If so this may be incorrect as it was definitely discernible between vehicle modes on mine, and I was able to switch off (make 0% volume) through OBDEleven. The difference was noticeable.

            Can confirm is just muffler. Stock DP and pipes to the resonator so if tuning will need to replace the DP. An Akra DP retails in Australia for about $3k as by chance I was looking this morning.

              Any prices for recent My19 GTI's and R's?

              Quoted 51k for a GTI with luxury/sound/metalic and 54.5k for R metallic only. Queensland.

                I bought a MK7 Highline not too long before the 7.5 update, and remember they made a big deal in ads about the dynamic/sequential rear indicators on (I think), all the models. I am now looking at either a MY19 GTI or maybe an R, but I can't seem to see any reference to the dynamic indicators anymore in marketing material, for any model.

                Does anyone know if they are still doing these? Don't see it as an option on any of the models, so I am guessing they either dropped it entirely, or it's not standard across the range?

                  All current 7.5 model R's come with the dynamic led turn signals now..

                  I think the GTIs do as well.. but don't own one so can't tell.

                    Don't think the MY19 AU GTI ended up with the dynamic indicators in the end. Just the R hatch.
                    All the pics and cars I've seen at dealers show the GTI and R wagon plain LED indicators.

                    Can get them fitted though to any MK7 hatch though. VW have a kit that's compatible with the MK7 and Mk7.5. There might be cheaper options too. I went with the VW kit and I'm happy with how it looks.

                      No dynamic indicators fitted as stock to gti would be available as a extra or aftermarket
                      No dynamic indicators for any wagons including the R
                      Am still sulking 18 months later really wanted those on my wagon
