Hi everyone,
I've recently purchased a brand new 2016 92TSI Golf in manual, and 800km in I'm experiencing major transmission issues. While driving, stationary idling or having the car turned off, I intermittently (now more often than not) am unable to select 5th or 6th gear. It feels as though there is physically something blocking the shift, and no variation of force, clutch feathering or RPM make any difference.
The car was given to VW in Werribee and they defaulted to "checking and adjusting" cable linkages. 30kms of driving after these adjustments I was again unable to select anything higher than 4th gear.
The car is again with VW and I have been given a loan car until a solution is found. My service report (now with the dealer) noted that Volkswagen TIP (fault database I assume) is aware of this issue and that a "long term solution is being investigated"
I've come here to ask if anyone else is experiencing the same issue and if so, found a solution, as this issue is SEVERELY ruining the experience of purchasing my first new car.
Any replies and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jacob
