  • Mk7 GTI Muffler Delete

    Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before.
    • What have been people's experiences with removing the rear muffler?
    • Is it a simple "Y" pipe weld job?
    • And a better option than removing the resonator in terms of sound?

    Much appreciated!

I reckon keep your muffler but get rid of resonator. I may be wrong but there should be less drone and you won't hate driving your car after 2 weeks.

Car will sound terrible with no rear muffler - dont do it to a nice new car. Get a decent aftermarket exhaust.

'thread seems old, but what are some good swap in mufflers that have the valves/actuators included so you can easily put the stocky back in if needed ?
