Has anyone fitted an oil cooler to their Mk7? I was contemplating whether there would be a benefit to bringing the oil temp down given Australia (particularly Qld where I am) is a lot hotter than Europe and my oil temp for normal driving sits around 100 and if I do a track day gets up to 118, 120 (I back off at 120, not sure why I picked that number but it seems pretty high). Eng temp never moves of 90 deg. appreciate any thoughts from those more knowledgeable then me as I understand engine as designed to run a lot hotter these days and in particular European cars tend to run hotter then Jap cars which I have had historically.

My R seems to sit between 104 and 107. It has hit 109 on a couple of occasions. It's an interesting question but I assume VW would have taken that in to account when they decided to de-tune the R (at least) for this climate.
I'm in QLD too.

All modern cars are running 100 deg oil temperature - it's just that you don't normally get to see the reading
Turbo cars rocket the oil temperature when you work them hard2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
