MIB 2 dead?

My 110TSI has had the MIB2 system give me a black screen a few times of late. Seems ot come right eventually, but can't say I'm super impressed so far. Been following this thread on Whirlpool as well and have to say VW really don't seem to be doing themselves any favours.

Really, really need lemon car laws in Australia. I have a good laugh whenever politicians talk about opening up the floodgates for parallel imports, and the dealer network cry 'But you won't get any customer protection!'.

Thats exactly the same as me and Im told by the dealership that we arent the only ones in the same boat

Then you will need to go back. Appears that this version does not work.

Just had my car looked at by Norris VW here in Brisbane.

They could not apply the update because although VW have released the software, they have not provided a part number for the SD card so Norris VW cannot apply the update.

As a Avionics Systems Engineer this boggles my mind immensely and I am most unimpressed. Are VW using signed cards or something for these updates? As a normal customer this p*sses me off because I gave them a good explanation of what the problem was before I booked the car in.They could have told me before hand they were not going to be able to fix it. Just a waste of my time.

I told them about VW Denlo and they just said "well we're not sure what they're doing". Here's a hint - pick up the phone!?

Had an incident when the reverse camera and park assist would not activate, but it came on again shortly after...
Also had an incident with black screen but working radio, had to hold down the power button for 10 seconds to hard shutdown and it came back up on reboot.

Will keep monitoring.

Sounds as if there is a fix but its not being rolled out nationwide yet...

Anyways apparently I'm on a database to be called once a fix is available so for me this will be a huge test for VW customer service and if I do get a call to come in for the fix before I have to call them then they will earn some of my goodwill back...

I was not aware of the ability to enforce a hard shutdown. I will try it next time I have the issue.

Think I may have been had, software updated today with the latest version (about 3 week old I am lead to believe) to this:
Installed SW Trained Version: MST2_EU_VW_P0222D

Installed SW MU Version: 0624

Part Number: 3Q0035846

Software Version: H25.14.78_STD2Nav_EU

Only difference I can find to other posts is train version MST2_EU_VW_PO222D, others have PO221D

So time will tell if I have a winner here or not.

How did it go Flipper Dog? I called the dealer today where I bought my car and spoke to a service advisor who suggested I book in the car to attend in two weeks, which is when they will have the update we've all been waiting for. See what happens.

Going well. Camera operates each time I go into reverse and no pop up messages saying park pilot unavailable. It works like it should have in the first place but I'll see after a few weeks how it goes.
