Sorry, only had now to get online. I'm still trying to determine if I like the wheel colour, might get them painted gloss black

Please don't - go and grab a set of the blacks off the first Wolfsburg run and I'll take those ones off you.

I must admit if ever a car was asking for gloss black it's the white Wolfsburg 7.5 - the extra black accents on the 7.5 will complement black wheels well. I'd be looking at something more like OZ ST LMs..

Actually, I think that is exactly what Lynx wants to do ....

I almost settled on one before doing a deal on a stock one - I'll put the savings to a set of wheels, one day..

I also like the "storm trooper" look (black accents on a white car, and the Golf R already has a fair bit of that going on from the factory).

But yes my first reaction on seeing the 7.5 Wolfsburg in white was 'storm trooper' look.

I'm likely to go to my usual suspects for new wheels down the track, but if anyone is offloading their Pretorias I may be interested in making an offer.

Mine landed in port kembla on oct 2. and Im waiting for it to leave port kembla and make its way up to maitland.

Im already annoyed its not on its way yet. If its still not there by next friday, im going to be even more pissed, But I would give it another week.

please keep us informed as to when you do get it, im waiting on a blue wolfs wagon with no roof.

Well I have been on the hunt for some new wheels for a while now I have seen the current ones and I'm not a fan and to tell you the truth to get them painted or powder coated seems like a waste of time i'm a car detailer by trade and very very fussy i'am not a huge fan of the black wheels but i must admit that black wheel suit this type of car to the tee they do sit a little too high for my liking but they will be changed soon enough. i have my eye on a set of Rays Wheels and they are not badly priced and would think they will suit the car better. but i must admit the cost of this car is getting eye watering i lost count at 80k

I purchased the 2018 Golf R Wolfsburg Hatch in Oryx White Pearl (+ Sunroof) in August. My estimated delivery is in December (let's see how that goes!) I am yet to receive a VIN from my dealer so I'll be chasing that up very shortly. My final price was contracted at $67k.

After reading many posts, reviews and even the VW website itself, it states that the Metallic and Pearl paint finishes are offered at no additional costs for the 7.5, however I was charged $500 extra for the Oryx. Can anyone confirm if this is in fact correct or if they have made an error. I contacted VW Head Office and they said that there should have been no additional charges.. so it's left me in a position where I have conflicting information.

It seems most people on this forum are more educated than the typical salesperson, so any info regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

We got ours down to 64k with roof as well. Paint shouldn't have been charged extra as it only comes in the three options.
Hope you can get some more off

That is correct you shouldnt be paying more for paint and that price in my eyes is a little on the high side too

That was the price I was paying for a wagon with sunroof so yeah seems high

I also thought the additional $500 price tag was a little suspicious.

As for the vehicle price, it's probably got something to do with the area I'm in, and I tried 5 different dealerships, all offering a similar price bracket for the car (around $67k) give or take $300-$400. I even attempted walking away from the deal multiple times but that didn't seem to change their minds unfortunately due to it being the limited edition. All of their dealer deliveries were around $3.4k which I thought was ridiculous but I bit the bullet and made the purchase because I didn't want to miss out on the Wolfy, especially since it was already August.

One dealership tried quoting me $68.5k because he added the Driver Assistance Package on top of the Wolfsburg. I don't think he realised that I did a mountain of research beforehand so he played the wrong person...

If it makes you feel better, I paid $69k for wagon with roof. My original dealer ****ed me over, and when I finally found a car from another dealer that I could get before end of year, I had zero leverage. But I wanted the wolfie and I wanted it this year.

VW part #

Well, after waiting for over 40 minutes at my local VW dealer I still don't know what the part # is.
It seems that when they look it up on their computer system it simply doesn't show any Wolfsburg badge at all.
And yes, my car does have one, and this is the dealer that sold it to me 18 days ago.
They have told me that they will ask "VW assistance" (whatever that is) for help & advice, and get back to me.
I'll let you know whatever and whenever they get back to me.

I would be quite annoyed if my Wolfsburg badge got stolen, and if VW c/wouldn't sell me a replacement badge then I would be pointing out to them rather firmly that in Australia manufacturers and importers are required by law (ACCC) to provide spare parts for a reasonable time.

We shall see what happens.....
