Same, silence from my dealer. Spoke to another dealer today to try and suss out when mine was coming.

Had a long chat with him, as Eyes has said non roofs coming in first, anytime from end of Aug through to Nov. Roofs coming in Dec, he showed me a list and all of the roofs were penned in for Dec. All of the above is for the hatches, wagons might take a month longer? Say Jan for a wagon with roof. Asked him if any Hatch wolfies are coming later than Dec, said nope all of them should be here on that same allotment/boat for Dec. Some non roof Wolfies hatch delivered end of Aug (super jealous).

Disclaimer for the above info, it's only what he said so it's not gospel! But I was confident he knew what he was talking about with the right details etc so yeah, still hoping no later than Dec for my Hatch/Blue/Sunroof Wolfie. Dealership I spoke to was a large one near Syd CBD, still have 3 Wolfies left.

Glad to have you guys to talk to, definitely helps pass the time waiting for this beast!

Anyone hear info if you were waiting for the 8 August to be told more?

I waited for the 8th, came and went with silence from VW, only promises that we will hear about it. Then chatted with the dealer yesterday. They have been given dates but said that they were uncertain still and could not send me the VW bulletin. I call BS.

Yes, there are delays etc etc but you launch the car and then can't deliver. When I ordered at the start of July I was told we have the 'biggest allocation' etc and your R Wolfie will be here by November. Have not heard or seen anything to tell me that it is going to happen. Possible scenarios are Dec/Jan delivery. I wouldn't be surprised if later. So the question remains, do I wait or pull out of the purchase. Hmmm tough call.

Exactly same boat as you Mr T (and I think even the same dealership). I have more faith of a Dec delivery as per my above post but mm until there's a confirmation of a VIN/this year delivery, that question remains for me too.

We may have been writing posts at the same time. Just saw your reply, the forum does make it easier. If it is Dec I'll wait for it. But it would definitely help if I had a vin, a build week to help my interest.

Confirmed my order for a blue wolf's wagon with no sunroof 2 days ago. I managed to get one that hunter valley vw were already getting in and that wasn't sold yet. 66k drive away with euro plates weather Sheild and boot liner. Already got a screenshot saying car has been built and will load on the ship on the 14th. Should get it November I did really want a sunroof but didn't want to wait longer and didn't want to risk not getting one at all.

I was originally getting a hatch with all options for 59200 but decided on the wagon and the wolf's was the only option without waiting till neclxt year. Hopefully not getting a sunroof doesn't annoy me later.

There is nothing to report or say yet because the golf r and gti havent been released yet untill august 14th none performace models are already on sale from the 8th of august.. and volkswagen in german has only come back from a summer 2 week hoildays so production should now be in full swing again..

I'm not to sure what you are waiting on ?you have placed an order on a cars that are not likely to be seen untill the end of the year. your dealers may contact you to finalize pricing for sum but untill your car arrives there is not a hell of alot the dealer can tell you. Some dealers may have some info around october once the good half of the wolfs will be built and than u may request a Vin number. But unless you are one of the lucky ones that got one already built on its way for the lanuch then you will be in the dark for a few more months. The dealers that told you that they will know more on august the 8th was just them buying time till volkswagen come back. So they could find out the final pricing and also allocations and also make colour changes and adding roofs and also dealer swaps.

In contrast for the ordering of new vehicles, i placed my order with the dealer for my 135tdi alltrack in mid july, it was allocated a build slot to commence 2nd august( part allocation & prep for production taking a couple weeks, then manufacture commencement, with handover to transport being mid september , an aust delivery end october, customer delivery late november. Maybe i was lucky in getting a production slot 3 weeks after the order, but if vw aust ordered these vehicles a few months ago, and are claiming end of year delivery/ next year delivery, then either parts for wolfies are awaited on an thus delays to production, or it was plAnned all along for staggered production of the wolfsburgs. Eg 20 wolfies per aust manufacturing sequence, which might be 1 day every 3 weeks.

just an observation and guestimation. But its clear vw need more transparency for the manufacture/allocation of wolifies, just like they should have been more trasparent for r line tiguans.
If their new focus for the brand un der micheal bartch MD is customer experience, then surely this becomes a key issue to address to progress the brand forward

I (and several other buyers) have been told by our dealers that there is a supply problem for the active display which is causing delays in builds, but I suspect (based on posts in this thread) that there may also be a supply or build problem for sunroofs as well.

Yeah I was told active display issues not sunroof but it does appear to be a supply issue for them as well.

I'd just like some transparency as to rough date - I'm not going to cancel the car but a bit of customer service would be nice consider the $$ being spent.

I have also been told from a few dealers that there is a global shortage on the active info display and that is what is causing the delay.
However, I find it a bit strange that a week after I ordered my R, my dealer said the car is currently being built and he gave me the vin (non Wolfsburg R).
So either I'm lucky in securing a build so quickly or he is spinning me bs to keep me happy because according to limitededs post, my build and delivery times will be a lot quicker than his (ETA mid October delivery for me).
I guess for this to be true, the car will have to be on the ship no later than late August. Time will tell.
