CarPlay Impressions

AppConnect is taking much longer to connect to the phone (IPhone 6S) over the last week or so.

It may be since the IOS 10.1.1 update, but not sure..

Anyone else getting this?

Yeah, it probably is but I hardly notice it as usually I'm manoeuvring and using the sensors so by the time the sensors turn off, it's up and running.

I'm due my first service this week so I will push the dealer on software updates.

I'm talking over a minute. Closer to 2 minutes before phone connects.

I've randomly quickened the process by going into the phone & opening Apps, but unsure of how at this stage.....

Oh, OK. I've not noticed it taking that long.

I'm on the latest iOS build using a brand new SE.

I'm due for my first service early in the new year, but am in two minds about the software update for the MIB2 after reading about the instability issues following the update. Does anyone know what the current version is and if they have addressed the problems reported after the updates?

I think I'm on 0624 after I pushed the dealer to update it in July. The main gripe was the Park Assist going MIA at random; it still does that now.

I now have other minor issues (not being able to switch car modes, for example) and I still have to reboot everything once every 10-14 days.

My reverse camera didn't work the other day & you should've seen me - completely lost & in fetal position, as I reversed as slow as I'd reversed in my life.

Yeah, it's a very handy device.

After my first service on Wednesday, VW stuck a campaign recall sticker inside my door and said the software was subject to a campaign. I'm now on version 0627 which seems to have taken care of a bunch of things.

Hasn't enabled the iOS 10 new CarPlay functions though.

I would think so but it'll probably be in the Mk8.

Considering the stability issues of the current MIB II hardware and software, I think it's unlikely wireless support will be introduced into this generation of infotainment.

CarPlay just got more user-friendly.

App-switch was added in IOS 10.3.

Noticed Apple Music & Spotify can't be on the App-switch list at the same time.....I've since discovered that it's not simply the last three apps used, but the last three of each type of Navigation, Communication & Entertainment App.

So, one of Apple Music, Spotify, Podcasts or TuneIn Radio/one of Messages or Phone/Apple Maps.

Spotify Issues on CarPlay

I'm just wondering if anyone else has issues with Spotify on CarPlay. When I plug my iPhone into the to connect to CarPlay and select Spotify, to play my music from the last song played. When I click play on the screen nothing happens and then if I click play on my phone instead, it plays but sounds like its on fast forward. I then have to close Spotify and reopen it and start playing at the beginning of a playlist. Its pretty annoying when I might be up to say song ninety six and then having to skip forwards to this track again.

Anyone else got this problem?

yup not the only one Spotify is a very buggy app
