Hi just wondering what type of turbo are in the new MK7 GTI/R? Is it still a K03/K04 Borg Warner or a IHI made turbo? Also are the vehicles still made in Germany that we receive in Australia? Looking at upgrade my APR Stage 2+ 08 MKV GTI next year to an R or another GTI... decisions decisions!

 These would be covered under warranty... Hopefully even those that had been modded.Originally posted by Ramee View PostDamn! that is no good.. Good example not to buy a new platform car straight away! Good example not to buy a new platform car straight away!

 That info is out of date. There have now been reported failures of the 722A. As of late October we're up to 722H apparently.Originally posted by jonoz View PostAlso from over @ VWVortex;

 Does anyone have info on what changes were made to each revision of this turbo? We could find that the 722A failures were isolated/unrelated or on a much smaller scale than the earlier rev models. It would be surprising for a turbo manufacturer as big as IHI to continue to get the design wrong after so many revisions.

 I am interested to see what response you get!Originally posted by jimarco View PostPicked up my Mk7 R mid Dec, Build date Sep 14. Checked the turbo and have 722A fitted. Have email VWA asking about having it updated with the new revision and why it has not been recalled.

 Can guess the response.

 Easiest way I found to find it is to turn your phones flash to "On" so it is constantly on and start recording a video whilst sticking your phone down as per the above arrow.
