Pretty standard level of customer service from VWA.Originally posted by jonoz View PostI emailed VW a week ago now with no response regarding the feeling of having an "unreliable" car that is known to have faulty components.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

I investigated the turbo on my Golf R yesterday - purpose was to try to see if the end float was easy to measure or not. You can get your fingers on it (on the compressor wheel) but its very hard to get a dial gauge in there.

Anyway, mines an early version & its had a very hard time & it feels like brand new!

Bit early to conclude that Marc, given all the key parts are different, although given the latest news is that stop/start is a key contributor that may still be the case.Originally posted by Remarcabull View PostWill probably suffer from the same turbo failures not worth the 5k they want for it

It uses an atmospheric BOV anyway, which is illegal in Aus AFAIK.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

I'm not impressed by the hybrids at all I wouldn't go down this path myself. I'd just be waiting for a Garrett drop in or similar something properly designed not a mismatchOriginally posted by AdamD View PostBit early to conclude that Marc, given all the key parts are different, although given the latest news is that stop/start is a key contributor that may still be the case.

BOV doesn't matter just put a recirculating one on there.

Uses the same frame prop shaft etc, would be enough to assume it would suffer issues of the same sort or Audi would have adopted some same sort of design. Not even Audi have fixed the issue yet.Originally posted by AdamD View PostBit early to conclude that Marc, given all the key parts are different, although given the latest news is that stop/start is a key contributor that may still be the case.
