  • Lol well spotted Spikeyboy! My local supermercado.

Afficionados will recognise them as a set of 19" VW Talledegas (from the MK6 Golf R- specs very similar to the 19" Cadiz, refer a few pages back on this thread), simply reused my Bridgestone Potenzas (which only have 3k km on them) (My Cadiz rims will be stored for now).

    • The Talladegas certainly look fantastic on the 7R, andrew7! Its a shame they aren't available as a dealer fit option to the car; they're a great alternative to the Cadiz rims.

      • Great look Andrew. They're a winner for me.

I am going the same way with Tallys in Lambo metallic gunmetal (Thanks Barney). Pics to come (car is due to arrive sometime next week). I'll be boxing the Lapiz for a rainy day.

No arguments from me - the Talladegas are one of VWs best rims and should really still be in the range. Glad we finally got there Andrew - pretty sure this once started out as an idea of black Sparcos on a white wagon?!

Tell me there is a slope away from you there at Woolies though, that trolley bay in the background is making me feel decidedly uncomfortable even in a picture.

          • Thanks for the comments. And yes, good memory Dutch, no regrets on the R though, what a rocket (btw saw in Melbourne a few days ago a black MK7 Golf Wagon with black 18" VW Motorsports and dark tint, looked excellent).

And yes there is a slope at the woolies, the angle/perspective of the shot is a tad freaky for some reason!

Cool Andrew7, they look very good. I think they would also look good and a blue R.

I thought they were original Talledegas, but there are a few different but the same if you know what I mean?

Do you mind me cost cost and where from?

              • Best place to buy will be here or another forum - second hand. Just make sure you're buying a set of Mk6 R wheels and not Scirocco as they come with a different offset. If you prefer 18s then that's a bonus because they'll be a lot cheaper - but will require a new finish to go black.

Once you're talking reps then it doesn't really matter where you go.

                        • So took me around a day and a half to go through all 121 pages, and my favourite wheel was comfortably the Oettinger RXX Silverline. I was really hoping to see someone else other than the websites photos give them a go. I'm still a long way off purchasing a GTI PP, and I wouldn't put them on my 103TSI Highline, but just wondering out of curiosity how do people think they would look on a Pure White GTI PP? If anyone has some photoshopping skills and a bit of free time I would love to see something mocked up!

Amazing thread Dutch, was a great read.

                          • Glad you found the thread a good read.

I think the RXX Silverlines would work fine on a white GTI; although I think they work much better on a black R where the silver highlights on the car and wheels work together. I suspect that's why the RXX Redlines have been used on the GTI, to work with the red GTI striping.

Here's a white GTI (admittedly with some Oettinger bodywork although it is mild) with mocked up Silverlines in a really bad edit (I have little to use at the office!):

Plenty of this car with the original Redlines and additional red stripe on the flank on the net and indeed in this thread.

I actually really like that! Thanks for the effort of mocking it up. I had a black HSV a couple of years ago and was really difficult to keep clean, so trying to keep away from black for a while. I like how the white and black set each other off. This just makes me even more excited to upgrade the Highline asap

                                Totally agree!

Black cars or wheels are a pain to keep clean but I've found that VW's metallic paint really shines when cleaned. The black stain finish of the OZ Ultraleggera wheels however are a pain to maintain sadly. They attract dirt very easily.
