Wonder how the 17" Dijons would look powdercoated gloss black?

Have seen these on a MK7 Golf somewhere, 17' Sparco Assetto Gara Black Painted, very similar to the Ultralegga but a bit cheaper, they look pretty good (US$592 plus shipping, taxes etc):

Any issues buying from Tirerack as far as you're aware?
    They look okay.
Tirerack wouldn't accept payment/ship for AU customers a while ago, i think they recently adopted paypal so maybe check if they will even let you buy it/send it here first.

    • VW Motorsport shouldn't be more than $2450 with decent tyres and $2300 for the Rotary which I think looks super smart - these packages are available on here from vwparts, check the parts for sale area, or PM for details - I believe they can split wheels and tyres if desired.

Nothing wrong with Sparco, they're tied up with OZ. I don't know if they will ship here for similar reasons to Michelin tyres and other items - you could always use a freight forwarder. Otherwise no other issues with them, numerous people have used them. Just pays to check locally first - contrary to popular opinion you can end up with decent local deals with the added bonus of local warranty.

Dijons coated black could work quite well, in fact I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I'd be more inclined with these options over cheaper reps.

or.. matte black OZ Ultraleggeras or Superturismo LMs in 18 inch $2500 plus $780 for Goodyears less whatever you can net for the 17s.

Alternately you can actually pick up the BBS SRs for less in 18, or keep your 17 tyres and aim for the OZ Ultraleggeras in 17 as before.

I was so sick of Detroits and then I saw that, and yeah, it works in a kinda retro way - but it needs that low look to keep it looking good. Don't think I'd be looking at running Detroits on a Mk7 unless I had coil overs a la this example.

I don't care if we have looked at anthracite BBS CH-Rs before, I like looking at them. I chucked in a black finish as well as a point of difference - there's also silver and titanium. Looking at around $3800 for a set of these unfortunately.

Interested to find out what you got quoted on the Motorsports.

Not sure how "central" you are in Vic but may be worth a trip to Adelaide...

As Dutch said check out the parts for sale area as there's new Motorsports advertised there - $385 a rim for 18's + shipping. Or $2,450 fitted with Continental MC5 225/40 R18 tyres.

                          • I've got a question regarding 18in v 19in wheels. Does anyone find the 19in wheels ride rough, have more road noise or any other problems?
Reason I ask is becuse I'm looking at buying either a Golf GTI or GTI PP, however I'm worried that the 19in wheels and lower profile tires on the PP will provide a rough ride. I'm going to use this car everyday to commute to work (50km) so needs to be comfortable.
                            Any help appreciated

19" wheels will have less sidewall so it will be a harsher ride.
Best to stick with 18's if you want comfort.

I guess if you have to buy the PP GTI you could always swap with someone who bought a car with the 18" wheels fitted.
