There is some pretty crazy stuff on there but it's a useful guide/resource.

Even after market 18s with a fairly conservative fitment can start to look a touch odd on the GTI (over time I felt mine needed a touch more lows to finish the look), but I think it comes down to the style of wheel.

Hopefully, I can find better quality but that's the style I like with some dish. These are too cheap so I assume not the best quality. Also thinking of getting them powder coated in matte black as my golf is white with dark tints and black tail lights as well, so would like to continue the theme of white on black.

Do they do a 5 x 112 fitment?

I know Enkei do - and some of the other Jap wheels like Rays. They also then do a friendlier offset for the Euros.

If you’re after traction, why are you looking at wider rims and stock width tyres?

Keep the stock rims, put some wider (235 or 245) Michelin’s on them [emoji848]

Traction may be helped by firmer suspension too...

That is a fair point, but it is a combination of both. I definitely want more traction but also want to get nicer rims. So looking for a compromise, I would much prefer the new rims and then 245s on them, but if I have to do 225 or 235 to fit into guards then I will just make sure to get Michelins or something high end as mentioned by other ppl to compensate for lack of tyre width.
