First off there's nothing different for the GTI PP to other Mk7 Golfs. Dutch will probably correct me but they all run pretty much the same width/offsets within a few mm. Check the first post for stock sizes but your Santiagos should be 19 x 7.5 ET51.

Running an 8.5 width rim with exactly the same offset will push the inside and outside 12.5mm further in/out. You'll probably want to go slightly more aggressive so as to give more clearance to your suspension/strut, however then you push out closer to your guards.

My suggestion would be 19x8.5 ET48 as a nice "safe" option. You may also need to look at what tyre you're running as you may need to have a slightly more stretched tyre (run stock tyre size) so that you don't get into rubbing issues with your guards. Also it will depend if you're going lower also (recommended to complete the look).

But if you're talking CH-R's then Dutch and AdamD have both spent the last 6 months looking at every angle and combination of this wheel so they are the best people to advise

Thanks Dutch, I'm definitely hesitant to spend $1k per wheel. Extremely pricey. I do enjoy some of the HRE wheels, always been a fan of the P101's. I'll definitely keep perusing this thread, my R will come with the Cadiz wheels which are still nice.

A P101 will make the Oettinger cheap.

The HRE FlowForm series are the entry point and can be had for some good prices, but if you like that style of wheel then as suggested I'd be looking at a set of Audi Rotors (genuine, not rep), or perhaps look at something from TSW like the Rivage or Spa - not exactly the same, but utilising black and polished finishes in a far nicer way than the OEM wheel.

LOL, and so it goes on.

The ET48 will be what you're looking for in the 19 x 8.5 - perfect fitment for the PP/R - although this does reduce inner clearance by 10mm which I assume is still ok on these cars with the bigger brakes? I assume yes as the Santiago fitment is very 'weak'.. the car is crying out for better fitment.

I believe the PP has the skinnier 225/35s fitted rather than 235/45s fitted to R/S3; this will still be ok on the x 8.5 wheel with some stretch, and will minimise any rub issue if you elect to go lower.

If you're feeling aggressive and want to play with camber etc then you could look at the lower offset choice, but that will require more work to be legal (assuming this is an important factor).

Thank you guy's. Appreciate all the info. I'm going to pull the trigger on them either on Fri/Sat this week. So will post pics when all done. I'm going to go for the Satin Titanium on a white PP. I spotted the picture of them on the GTI on the 1st page and love it... I know most would go for the Satin Black.....

Titanium on white is an excellent way to go - you're paying good dollars on a quality wheel so let people enjoy the detail. I'm more familiar with the matte finish, but the satin looks equally impressive.

Just got an email from a place I enquired with about the Oettinger RXX Silverline's, they said that they didn't import them in anymore but they sent me a link to a supposedly new Volkswagen Racing wheel that are set to be released to Australia soon. I'm personally not sure if I like them. The link is below;

I do like them, not 100%, but they do have OEM feel and the concave centre adds an air of aggression to them:











I've probably warmed most to the gunmetal as it has a top finish on it - and I am not overly in love with diamond cut finishes as done to death by VW OEM wheels.
