Cheers for that. Ive got some 034 Motorsports lowering springs on order (hoping ill receive them and have time to install them before i get the rims) also so hopefully it wont be sitting as high as this example.
Of course you do..
Be interested to see the final outcomes - looks/drop wise, drive wise and ride wise.

Nice wheel choice Lucas.
May I ask where you purchased from? Seems like Koya are based in QLD. Any Sydney based distributors with decent price?
I'm actually looking at the SF 13 in 18x8.5 for a Mk7 Golf R....Do Koya do custom offset that the wheels are machined to?
Hey mate there were several places to order them from, but ended up buying through Mode Auto Concepts as per my link a few posts up. Mode are based in Brisbane (same as Koya).
If you want a Sydney distributor, then AutoCraze in Caringbah is a distributor for Koya as well as many other brands. And yes the wheels are made as blanks, so the wheel bolt pattern and offset is done on the wheels prior to shipping to match the car they are going onto. If you are going 18 x 8.5 then the offset for a Golf is between 40-45 for best fitment.
Just ordered some Koya SF11's 19 x 8.5 in gloss gunmetal grey for my new-to-me candy white Mk7 GTI Performance. Very much looking forward to getting them to replace the factory wheels which are ugly (IMO), with a piss weak offset and gutter damaged and burn my eyes whenever I look at them.
Will upload some pics once fitted to the car.
Thanks to Dutch77 for this thread which helped me choose the rims. Basically it was between some Rotiforms, Niche or the Koya's. I could only find these rims in gloss black on a red Mk7 R though as per this post https://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums...ml#post1318548

Welcome.
Nice choice though, that's a nice looking wheel.
I admittedly did go gloss black for my current set to offset the white and existing extra black pieces on the ED40 but very much am a fan of the gunmetal finish having run two sets previously.. graphite LMs on the Mk6 GTI, and 'grigio corsa' Leggeras on the Mk7 GTI.
No arguments from me on the OEM wheels, they marked the decline of VW OEM wheels generally..
In terms of the front plate mount just remove the factory one and attach the plate direct to the bumper. Then either get some small plugs or stickers with touch-up paint to cover the holes.
...but we're getting a little side-tacked here from wheels
When you're as useless as me you get tigger73 to assist in the above process and end up with this.. noting that on this resolution even close up you don't even register the four stickers covering the existing holes. Massive improvement for a small outlay:
Nice choice. Yeah I know how much gutter rash (or any mark on the car) can eat away at you. Plus the machined faces are a bit of a nightmare to repair. May as well tip the $ into a new set of wheels
I got quoted $340 per rim to have the original wheels refurbished, so considering I dont really like them anyway (too many spokes, hard to clean and would need spacers to fix the weak offset) it made sense to just get new wheels.
Yes please. I'm a bigger fan of gunmetal rather than going full storm-trooper.
Black wheels have been done to death (both in OEM world and aftermarket). IMO in addition to just looking like a endlessly dirty black blobs with no definition, I think on certain coloured cars (blue, white, red, black in particular) that grey wheels just suit it better.
