Are there 8" units with car play and mirror link yet?

VW central is doing some work on this, they have the 8" screen for sale and are working on the mirrorlink. They have the google map + WLAN version too.

Will Euro upgrades be stocking at any stage the new Discover Media units with Mirrorlink?
I'd be interested in getting the 8" Screen with the new Discover units.

I've seen a video of an 8" Discover Media Pro screen running a VW Polo's main control

As described its the Gen 1 8" Discover Media Pro screen, running the Gen 2 MIB unit.

One would assume that this could be possible as you guys have done a great job getting the Gen 1 units to work.
Any info would be great for us owners looking for the upgrade with mirrorlink/apple carplay

We have successfully activated MirrorLink option on 2015 VW Polo a week back:

MIB2 units will be available once the map gets released in 2016 for them.
Generally 6.5" unit are a downgrade from Discovery Pro in general terms, just be aware of that guys.

What about the 8" Discover Pro with Apple Car Play? Also with the 6.5" unit, if that replaced a 5.8" Discover Nav, will the Apple integration work from the existing USB ports that Australian cars are fitted with? Currently they don't recognise iPods/iPhones

Discovery Pro does not support it at the moment. Maybe a Software Update in the future. At the moment, none of the units we know support it.

Mirror link was activated on 2015 Polo with MIB2 by us but Apple Car Play is the melody of the future. 2016 maybe if not 2017...

We tested the Polo with iPhone and it was not there.

Do you do Discover Media 6.5" or even 5.8" upgrades for "lesser" Mk7s?

Surely some of the customers who went 8" would have left their "old" units behind?

We can get these units cheap but its impossible to retrofit it. Same story like it used to be with Discovery Pro - System cannot be enabled and the same with maps. Its not viable at this Stage to invest in RnD when DP units are so cheap at less than 30% of VW price.
Discovery Pro will have a SW update for mirror link and car play to function as well. There is already a setting for mirror link on these.

They come with 2015 maps and price tag of $3999

We got one on the bench to test with ODIS diagnostics but should be getting some more early next week.

I didn't expect you guys to have the new units so early into the MY16's release!
How much would be total costing for the units, installation and surrounds?
Still going to be the same as the old Discover Media Pro MIB1 just with the price difference of the unit itself ?

It came as a bit of a surprise to us too to be honest. They were not meant to be coming out for a little while.
Quantity is limited at the moment to a couple of units.

I have the Discover Pro VI that Eurocar fitted for me as soon as i received my new 2015 Golf R in Jan.

I love it and have not regretted the cost for one second. Every time i sit in a new VW Golf i am astounded that the importers put such a cruddy little screen in when the 8" is available. To not have it even as an option is borderline criminal.

If you are sitting on the fence, just do it! Its a bit scary modifying your car, but you will not look back.

Oh and definitely stump for the Helix Amplifier & Subwoofer it makes a MASSIVE difference. I have not heard a better stock system in ANY car. It makes people start looking for the 12" sub in the boot. It also significantly improves the front end.
