Hmm not sure why you bought the Helix from Amazon.... I got mine in Aus for less that that....... I have the focal splits and they are great.

I couldn't find it anywhere in Aus. Where did you source it from?

I asked the VW dealer and they had never heard of the system, so i figured OS was the only option, 90% of the info i found on the Helix system was from german websites and forums, there is very little info about it on the web apart from forums, and overseas VW websites that only show very basic info about the system.

Do you have a MK6 or MK7, i know there is a focal kit for the MK6, but i havent been able to find out if it can easily be fitted to the MK7. I love Focal gear and i have had their speakers in quite a few of my previous vehicles.

The dealer that advised are wrong I wonder if they bothered to ask VW direct ... I bought mine through my dealer Rex Gorell when I bought the car...... I have a MK7 Performance Pack BTW... I would recommend you ring the following which is where I got mine re the Focals... speak to Joe.

liquidforce: interesting response!! Why not - what's the limitation in the media unit ?

I have be told by a colleague in another forum that the media units have native DAB+ capabilities. Is the problem hardware, or software (or both)?

Will double check this tomorrow when we have access to ETKA and let you guys know.
Personally I have not heard about a Discovery Media and we had quite a few here for tests hence my guessed assumption.

DAB+ is an option on Discovery Media Unit
You need to replace the unit with DAB unit and get the CP removed by VW.
You will also need a DAB antenna.
Confusion has been cleared. Example part number with DAB 5G0035858 with PR QV3
