Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Dutch - just noticed your signature. What's the story? Are you switching to a PP with bi-xenons?

    • So after talking to a few dealers, they say there's absolutely no difference between an MY14/MY15.

Which means I may have a (slim) chance of finding an MY14 with Bi-Xenons...

      (Not getting hopes up).

        • Last time I spoke to my dealer they said there were only a couple of manual GTIs with xenons - all were optioned-up. One which springs to mind was black with sunroof (and I think leather). Dunno if it is still in the system.

Haha, yeah I found the red electrical tape kept coming off the halogens in the rain up here.

Needing to likely revert to one car in the near future, and as roomy as a Mk7 Golf, the other car is that bit bigger and wins a stay of execution for now.

              • Got an APR Stage 1 tune today!

Fast Stuff in Mordialloc installed the tune while I waited, fantastic service from Dean and the team all round.

As for the difference, wowee! Still coming to grips with it, but the increase in power and torque is pretty noticeable. I would have liked to have it dyno'd before and after, but to be honest I didn't think I was going to get it done today, so didn't book a dyno!

                • So just picked up my new GTI performance yesterday! Very wet weather here up in Brisbane ATM and was able to take some corners quite hard off some sets of lights. Pretty sure the LSD was tested and wow, definitely felt more planted than my previous GTI. Only thing missing is the sunroof but overall very happy so far. Ride on 19s surprisingly quite good too. Only hiccup is a missing footwell LED light on the passenger side. Bit puzzling it was not picked up before but anyways take it into the dealers next Wednesday to have a look

Are you referring to the actual footwell light or the sill panel when you open the door?
The sill panel only has the led on the drivers side

Mine must be special... Has red LED in both driver and passenger sill trims.

                        • Hi all,

I recieved my new mk7 golf GTI with DSG on Friday and I love it.

I'm still getting used to the car however I had one question.

If I accelerate hard from a complete stop, the traction control light on the dashboard flickers briefly and there is a bit of a thud, it only happens for a split second..

I'm thinking I'm just loosing traction on the front wheels and think its normal but wanted to see what you guys thought? Otherwise I'm loving the new car

Sounds like axle tramping combined with the traction control kicking in to me.

Turn the traction control off and see if it's any better? Won't eliminate it but should reduce the severity.

                            • Ok thanks.. I figured the traction control is protecting me from myself .

So it's normal in that it's not a fault in the car?

                              Cheers

                              • Hi Guys, Sorry I have a couple of other questions, I've searched around but I don't seem to be able to get a clear answer,

                                ok firstly, sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm trying to work out which lights are what in the headlight cluster on my GTI, I have the standard Halogen lights. According to the Manual I have;
                                - Side Lights
                                - Daytime Running Lights
                                - Dipped Beam/Main Beam lights.

The picture in the manual doesn't break down which ones are which..

In relation to Navigation and traffic Alerts I have the 2015 maps...and when the FM Radio or Navigation is on 'TP' comes up on the top middle of the screen, However if I press the traffic button it seems to always say 'No Traffic Alerts' ( or something to that affect). Do I need to enable it via VCDS?

                                Many thank again.
