Missing Adaptation channel - Fix
The channel, Fee Based Traffic Information (TMC) in step (4) appears in the drop-down list if byte 13 of 5F-information Elect. controller has a coding value of hex09. If this channel does not appear, then byte 13 may need to be changed to this vaue (thanks zloybob.)
Please note the following after the tweak has been completed:
For TMC to work, "TP" and "RDS" need to be activated in the set-up menu for the radio
It may take some time for the new facility to be established and for the initial set of traffic reports to be downloaded. In my case, the wait time was over an hour, but others have reported longer times.
Anyone know if this procedure can be carried out in a mk6?
Cheers

The Mk6 uses an entirely different head unit and traffic information system. See existing threads in the VW Car Audio and Electronics forum for details.
Thanks for your replies. Appreciate your comments and assistance. Sorry for not acknowledging it earlier. Some things I'll just have to get used to. Otherwise its a fantastic car and I'm enjoying the experience.
Anyone know if the MY 2015 Golf 7 2.0 tdi is running the new EA288 euro 6 engine
Are you sure you're not getting confused with the US people getting the EA288 that we already have? (Or am I getting confused to?)
Edit: Ah, yes, I've only got the Euro 5 EA288...
The current volkswagen-golf-brochure-my15-web.pdf file from the Australian website still only says Euro 5, but VW have been known to make stuff-ups with printing brochures with incorrect information. (Voice control, LEDs on plates with Xenons...etc)
Euro 5 vs 6 is:
NOx drops from 0.180 to 0.08
HC+NOx drops from 0.23 to 0.17
Everything else is the same. (This is for Diesel)
The main challenge is the nitrous oxide:
"To meet them, car manufacturers are having to invest in yet more new diesel engine filtration technology to clean up exhaust emissions. One example of this is Selective Catalytic Reduction, which stores emissions and then ‘selectively’ heats up to regenerate and neutralise the emissions. Another alternative is a fuel-borne urea solution (commonly known as ‘AdBlue’) which breaks down emissions in the exhaust."
Is the Nigh Blue Met Paint no longer available? I tried to search on official web and
Is the Night Blue Met Paint no longer available? I tried to search on official web and it disappear...then i download the brochure which also excluded the night blue paint, it's a big reason why I'm considering the golf 7.....
On the other hand are there any identified difference between My14 and MY15? I don't understanding why it should be more expensive?

That is a shame. The night blue is a great colour. I searched hard to get a GTI in the night blue. The other mk7 models look good in the colour as well. The pacific blue still looks good however.
Yes a few times from the driver door and more often from both B pillar (where I adjust the height of the seat belt) ... is it something VW can fix or should be fixing for us????
Hi there, has anyone had any luck with this issue? My golf has started making the noise and I hear it when braking/decelerating and especially when the revs are higher during downward gear movements. It sounds like the door and is really loud and annoying!!! I'm booked in next week but want to go in there with some ideas, thanks!

Sucks about the colour mate! I just picked up a new Touareg in night blue and we love it. Seems silly to get rid of it!
Comparison between North American Golf MKVII and Australian MKVII
I posted a little while ago regarding the differences between the 90tsi and the 103tsi. Now my query is a broader one? Do Australian buyers get the short end of the stick when it comes to our model of the Golf vs the North American edition?
North American Golf (Canadian Version):
Leatherette is standard on comfortline trims and leather standard on Highline trim.
Higher HP engine with 175HP and 185 lb-ft of Torque. 0-100 km/h in around 7.5s
8' screen on Highline entertainment unit.
Drivers Assistance Package includes lane assist.
Australian Golf:
5.7' display unit.
Cloth standard on all models, leather available as an option on highline model.
90tsi and 103tsi engines available, 0-100kh/h in 9.3 and 8.4s respectively.
On paper, it seems like we get shortchanged on our version of the golf. Is this true? Are there any advantages to having a less powerful engine aside from slightly better fuel consumption? Is this another case of Australians paying more for less? (smaller display unit, no leather/leatherette, less powerful engine). Do Aussie golf buyers have any advantages that our North American counterparts do not?
