Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Tonymy01: ain't that always the way. What's the old adage about only reading manuals as a last resort!
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

only some coding needs to be done to activate it, see alanzidane's post.

            • Anyone know how to reset the "Service Now!" warning ?

Ive tried the Hold 0.0 / turn on ignition / let go 0.0 then press it again to reset combo - it then says "service reminder reset" but actually doesnt.

              Halp ?

              • Live Traffic. Just for interest's sake, mine works in Perth. Just went thru the menus as someone suggested a while back, and it seems to be doing its stuff. Sticks warning triangles on the Nav screen, and has a never ending list of reports, listed by increasing number, on the Traffic screen. These reports are current - great assurance while parked on the Mitchell Freeway this morning all the way between Hepburn and Powis!

Ben: I've successfully used the process that you have described a couple of times on my Golf. Real strange that you can't reset it ( I'm assuming that some time has elapsed since the last reset). Only other suggestion is to try it with a VCDS cable. You probably don't own one, but VWW has a thread of forum members that might be able to help (see below).

Thanks very much for the explanation of the potential problem with my wipers. I hadn't been on the forum for a while and only just saw your response now. When I get home I'll give your suggested solution a try.

                    • Hey guys,

Just a quick question regarding my new golf wagon. I was looking underneath the rear bumper yesterday and found a large rectangular opening. Is this standard or is there supposed to be some sort of flap/cover that's been removed and not been replaced.

                      Cheers.

                      • Curious about the 103TSI as compared to the Mk6 118TSI (which eventually got hobbled back to a 103TSI when it was de-tuned) .
Obviously the Supercharger has gone, but apart from this is there any other significant difference in the power plant?

Has anyone around here ECU tuned their MK7 103TSI? If so are the gains essentially the same as they were on the MK6?
Seems the 103TSI only comes mated with DSG7. No manual option. Is this correct?

                          Correct, 7 speed DSG only.

                            Hi.

I think it's there for the towbar to come through if you fit one. I've just had one fitted and they said that they made no cuts to the bumper. I'll post photos in the tow bar thread tomorrow.

                              Hi Lambertia

I'm about to take delivery of a Mk VII Wagon and am keen to get a towbar fitted asap.

But I'm thinking that since I'm in Canberra that might not be so easy.

However... I'll likely be in Melbourne in a few weeks, so I was wondering...

Can you share which brand you've gone with, who fitted it and did all go well enough to recommend the bar and fitter to others?

                              Cheers
