Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone here has retrofitted the LED taillights to their Golf and what their experiences have been?
I've seen a few post from Mk7Golf.com about Americans fitting them and having to run additional wires for the Amber indicator lights and just wondering if here in Australia whether that is already wired into the lighting loom.
Also has anyone seen the new Golf 7.5 Led taillights installed yet? they look a million bucks in my opinion.

Hi guys, I've picked up my new Golf 92TSI Trendline this afternoon and was wondering if I could get some advice on a few things.
- I've asked the dealer but he didn't seem to know. When he showed us the engine bay I noticed that there was thick unfinished looking dried paint and some even with sharp edges (of the same colour as the car) on the metal parts - on sides of the engine bay above where tyres are etc. I didn't check other cars on the floor so wanted to see if this is common in this model. I also noticed patches of white paint under the top inside part of hatchback on both sides. I looked in my engine bay of my MK6 GTI and there are some patches of rough paint in engine bay but nothing as thick and obvious as this new car. Maybe with white car it would even stand out more but it is a bit too much.
- There was some light constant rattling type of noise on idle and I wasn't sure if that's normal for this model.
- The thump from shutting all the doors except for the driver door doesn't seem very solid like the 92TSI loaner I had recently. It's as if hitting something hard near the door seal. I don't hear that suction type of firm noise on shutting.
Hope nothing is major.
Btw do we not get rego papers any more when we buy a new car in Victoria? I know we don't need stickers but thought we'd still get rego papers with details.
Looking at my first VW - 92TSI Trendline or 110TSI Highline
Looking at getting a new car as my current one needs some mechanical work and it's not worth spending the money.
Looking at getting either a new 92TSI Trendline or a 110TSI Highline. I realise the MK7.5 is due out later in the year, but I don't want to wait that long.
Any tips or thoughts before I commit to a purchase? I'm keen on the Highline, but struggling to convince my wife of the benefit for the extra money. Either way I'm looking at getting the driver assistance pack and probably tinted windows.
If I go ahead, it will be via a novated lease, so the pricing is already pretty sharp as they have pre-negotiated discounts.
If you can force yourself to wait the new 7.5 update brings some vry nice interior kit with the infotainment pack
Tho if you want to pull trigger now VW have some big discounts on the 92tsi as the are going to be no more soon
with all golfs having the 110tsi motor
But if you can get your wife to agree a Highline is a vry nice place to be indeed i have a mark 6 Highline atm and am vry glad
i did not go trendline its just more plush and if you wait for 7.5 omg 9.2 inch entertainment screen and 400w 8 speaker system with the 12.3 inch virtual cockpit as a package
Either way enjoy your new golf good luck with the persuading the wife
2017 Golf Alltrack 135tdi All options
19 inch Brescia Wheels Golf R brakes front and rear
Calipers painted Candy apple gold
New rear sway bar and linkages
Difference in repayments between the two would be pretty nominal I imagine, and the better resale value of the highline would push the financial equation in its favour I expect. Much nicer place to be in the Highline, and the value drops out of the base model 92TSi's pretty sharply as there are just so many of them around.
Plus one waiting for the Mk 7.5 if you can, as it seems to be a lot of extra gear, and pricing is tipped not to change too much (notwithstanding run-out deals that may be there on the current ones).
Went with the Highline in the end. My wife said no way, but I got her to drive the trendline first and about 30 seconds in the highline and she was sold. Didn't really want to wait until the MK7.5, as nice as some of the updates will be, I'm sure the screens will be extra $$$ again.
Pretty happy with the tech in the current range with the Driver Assistance pack.
So hopefully I will have a nice new black 110TSI Highline with DAP and legal tints ready to pick up in the next couple of weeks

Congrats!
I picked up my new Highline with DAP and R Line pack last Friday. Absolutely loving it. The cabin is just a really nice place to be. You did the right thing going for the Highline, it really is a nice car. I've come from a 2007 Polo GTI so have been blown away with all the tech. Today's cars are just amazing.
