I'm looking at the new Golf Wagon TDI.
Anyone able to share driveaway prices, please?

$29k changeover from 34k km, Jan 2011 compliance, met brown 118tsi wagon w 8 months rego, 3 months new warranty, and 10 days to 30k service, into white 110tdi wagon w leather, driver assist and sunroof, in WA. Prob could have haggled to $28k. Basic drive away list for diesel wagon is a shade over $40k in WA, this one was $46.4 list driveaway, so we got about $3500 to $4000 off allowing for trade.

They have listed the trade in for sale at $23000! Be lucky to get $20k I'd think. It's had new engine, new DSG, new wheel bearings, shudders a bit, and still rubs something internal from front left, so pity the buyer.

Hey mate....just wondering how you tracked your car going on the boat. Mine is built and I have a shipping date of 17 March. Am I to assume you can't track them before that?

You'll need the VIN number, the dealer will give it to you if its built.
Go to

Input the Vin into Cargo ID and it will tell you what ship it's on. This may take a few days to show up after departure but once it does it will tell you the ship name and you can track it pretty easily using any ship tracking website.

I've had a look and nothing leave Bremerhaven on the 17th but one leaves on the 16th and 2 on the 19th so it will be on one of them. Also once you have the ships name you can search the ports that it will visit on the same website.

I have ordered GTI in 6-speed manual, arriving mid-April. Nearly everyone posting seems to have the DSG. Does anyone have the manual? If so, how do you find it?
Does anyone have any opinions on DSG vs Manual and what prompted your choice?
