To that end question for anyone trading in on a build, how did you go about negotiating the trade in value of your MK6 (assume for e.g that there is a 3-4 mth wait for your MK7)?

I've Only got a few days till delivery.

My experience has been 2-3 weeks to clear the docks then about 1 week with dealer pre-delivery work.

I inspected my car this arv. Very happy with how quick it got here. Boat docked Tuesday last week, car arrived in Toowoomba Monday, delivery this Thursday.

Hi Dutch, that's a quick turn around time. Good on you! How much did you pay if you don't mind sharing?

I believe the car is floating around already or is about to reach Oz - I took a standard car this time around which has obviously made it easier. If it ends up taking longer I'll cope. Just.

Given the differing drive-away prices in each state I'll give it as 10.4% off rrp which seems decent based on what I could dig up. I have not included the free GTI cap in this calculation.

Just got the call from the dealer. My GTi arrived at the dealer today. I will pick it up Tuesday next week

scratched my alloys today for the first time while doing a side park.

My boss scratched his rims on his car, options were to replace a rim (a set of rims for him is about $25000, therefore one rim would've been...alot) or repair, well the repair was $160 from memory and you can't even tell (which is awesome because of the machined surface is usually tough to repair).
Worth looking into when you decide to get it fixed.
