Just picked up my white 103TSI Highline, with leather and driver assist. Traded in my 2009 manual 118TSI. Ordered early September, but they were able to grab one on the boat (destined for a NSW dealer), which they transferred over to WA via road.. It came off the boat on 15th Sep, and got here on 3rd October.

I hadn't even test driven one, so it was my first drive - I had to come back to work, so only had a 10 minute drive, but so far, so good!

Adaptive Cruise Control was interesting - very unnerving first time I let it brake for me when coming up to the lights.

I found the indicator clicking a bit louder than my mk6, but I suppose I'll get used to that.

Mine took seven days after delivery into Melbourne and it had to be road freighted to Brisbane! I guess it will depend on the dealer and how many cars they have to prep.

Thanks for the info! think its time to put some pressure on the dealer and see if they can make it happen.

Just put a deposit down on a pure white GTI manual. For me the Mk7 comes with pretty much everything else I would have wanted so I'm pretty darn happy. Should be here before the end of October!

I ended up going down to Southern VW. The others in SA barely had any manuals in stock!

Just bought the 90TSI Comfortline with driver assist package, metallic paint for driveaway : $27000.
It doesn't have the camera though as the dealership say VW has run out.

Would the Park assist 2 become useless without the camera?

Not at all. Park Assist doesn't use the camera - it uses sensors to detect vehicle/object proximity. The reversing camera merely makes it easier for you as the driver to operate the brakes at the right point, and to park manually.

I wouldn't be taking a car without the camera though unless they had signed somewhere to retrofit one. I thought the camera was standard across all Mk7 models (or was it only Comfortline +) - you don't want to be one of a handful of people without it
