I agree that having dynaudio as an option on all golfs except the flagship R is crap and just a kicker to move the wolfsburgs. I'm confident it will be an option once the wolfies are sold out.
I bet that's exactly what VWA are thinking; if the stock R has it then why buy a Wolfie?
Based on my upgrade cycle on my current 7R, I'll be looking to the Mk8 anyway.

Hi everyone! Just spoke to my friend who works for Vw, he had training on the golf range today. So l ask about the Dynaudio if it's going to be a option in the gti and R. He told me it will be.
Also gti and R has been pushed back till October-November.

Hey mate ... it's already an option on the GTI. Would he have confused the GTI with the "R" debacle ?

Totally with you, Pretorias alone swayed me to the Wolfie. Added bonus it comes with DAP and Dynaudio included which I would have ordered anyway. For all the standard R purchasers I hope Dynaudio becomes an option. Guess we might need to wait for the performance configurator to come live to figure it out.
Little addit, still no news from my dealer on when the ordered car is coming, at this point my guess is earliest October now with *shudder* maybe into 2018.

Agree Wolfsburg is a bit of a joke. Avoided it for a couple of reasons, least of which I don't like the cheap looking 'carbon' seats. Even Chris Harris thought as much in his MK7 R review some time back.
I was put off the seat before buying one but because the cabin is pretty dark you don’t even notice it that much.
$3170 Installed. Pretty hefty, however when you consider the 'Wolfsburg Tax', we would still be in front.
I was thinking of getting it installed but I was told that you need the Discovery Pro to have the Dynaudio speakers so you’re definitely going to pay through the nose to have that OEM feel/look. So now I’m looking into getting an amp and upgrading the speakers. I won’t be getting a sub cause I like knowing that I have a spare wheel if or when I ever need it. With the money saved from not getting the Dynaudio I can focus on stage 3?

I’m pretty jelly about the virtual cockpit on the facelift and Wolfie but I haven’t had the car long enough to justify an upgrade. Looking forward to the 8 instead but while we wait for another couple of years may as well move to stage 2/3 to keep me entertained.
I vowed to never have one again when I had my Honda Prelude but I’ve pretty happy with it. I never close screen and it just adds more light into the cabin.

So I saw my dealership today as they were doing some promoting at the lend cal shopping centre. It appears my April 2018 delivery is due to me getting a sunroof on the Wolfsburg. He said all non-sunroof orders will be built first/delivered from end of next month. All sunroof built cars from January onwards for March/April delivery, other than a wagon they're getting in November with a sunroof.
Whether or not that is the same for ALL dealerships I can't say, however for mine it is the case apparently.
