HAH .. yep, mistake keeping 1IC in that loop ! (Apologies to any ladies in our group
). But I haven't heard that VW changed the system from the 7 to the 7.5. And great to hear that about the standard system. Lovin' that ! It'll probably do as is. Thanx man.

Apparently it's an ECU tweak, rather than hardware changes, that makes the car sound more exciting. Both the new S3 and 7.5 Rs have been tuned - in response to the raucous Ford RS is the rumour.Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

Picked up a couple of accessories.
Genuine VW Golf MK7 Mirror caps - High Gloss Black - 5G0072530A
Genuine VW Golf MK 7 Luggage Net - 5N0065111
Took a while finding genuine parts for a reasonable price. Shipping was only ~$50 from the UK.Last edited by Guest; 07-06-2017, 09:43 PM.

Mk7 tyre size question...
Hi all,
I remember reading a while back, and a search couldn't find what I was looking for so here goes:
On the 19's stock tyres are 235/35...
Someone offered a suggestion that a cheaper option was a different size as it's a more common 19" tyre... can anyone shed some light as to what it was??
245/35?
235/45?

Mk7 Golf R Discussion Thread
Anyone used a car buying service? Thinking of it as no dealer wants to negotiate on a Wolfsburg at this stage. The standard R, have one good discount but not many want to compete for my money, yet. May need to look at an alternative to the R or wait. The latter option I hate

My father-in-law used the NRMA brokering service 6 or 7 years ago. It was effective for him as he hates negotiating with dealers. They were easy to work with and made it simple to buy a new car.Originally posted by Mr T. View PostAnyone used a car buying service? And was the saving substantial as opposed to negotiating directly?Originally posted by Mattlock View PostMy father-in-law used the NRMA brokering service 6 or 7 years ago. It was effective for him as he hates negotiating with dealers. They were easy to work with and made it simple to buy a new car.

It wasn't substantial, in line with a good negotiation really.Originally posted by Mr T. View PostAnd was the saving substantial as opposed to negotiating directly?

For him though it was substantial as he probably wouldn't have achieved the same level directly.
