The PDF doesn't quote Kerb Weight, it quotes Unladen Weight:
Unladen vehicle weight includes driver (68kg), 7kg of luggage and fuel tank 90% full, calculated in accordance with the current version of EC Directive 92/21/EEC.
The figures I quoted are from Redbook (and Carsales), and are the Kerb Weight figures. Kerb Weight is defined as "the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables (e.g., motor oil and coolant), a full tank of fuel, while not loaded with either passengers or cargo." (source: Wikipedia.)
Not about wanting boy racer style & a big no thanks to a Subaru, but give me a a45 & I won't complain lol, just stating the R is classed as a sports hatch & at $60k+ it should have some aggressiveness to it, nothing over the top but just enough when your driving others look & think nice it's an R, not oh is that the R lol, it's just that front grill I'm having a go at rest of the car looks good, & awesome engine I'm sure, the gti looks nice & the r 400 looks nice, yet the R for whatever reason they chose a gay front grill imo, but your right I should see one in person as I'm just going on pics, already stated I'm not buying a R just posting out of interest as I like VW's but I do think gti/r are a tad overpriced
Anyway it's all personal opinion in the end, if we all liked the same thing it would be a boring world..
Do I see Alcantara seats sekas? If so, please do snap some pics once you get the car. I'm trying to decide whether leather is a worthwhile option. I'm leaning towards no, but I've struggled to find decent pics on line to assist in the decision making process. Interestingly, I was advised that the first round of cars were all delivered with leather; perhaps yours is part of a second batch?
In other news, the R400 has been confirmed for production.
^ so they are the standard R seats? I like the finish on those.. would be happy to skip leather unless I got a really good deal/it was on an unassigned car.
Is that a tasty Merc I see in the garage btw?

Hi Dutch77,
Yes they are standard R seats and I was so happy that they were not leather. I don't want to start an argument but I find leather wears and stretches and can become very untidy. It is cold and slipper and yes, they come with heated seats but it does take a while to warm up. I still have a white mk6 R with cloth seats and traded the Black R with leather for this beautiful beast. I just love this Mk7 R. Awesome machine.
Yes the car in the garage is my toy car, a C63 coupe.

I was trying to get the car with the alcantara seats but I wanted the panoramic roof, and the only way of getting roof was with the 3 extras available leather, diver package, and roof. The only way of getting a car with the alcantara fabric at this time is getting a plain version.
Also to the haters of the R I gotta say I was one of you when I first look at it on an internet picture, but then I started to see videos and finally in person and after drove it man I gotta say the car really grows on you, I love it...

Your toy is a C63? My toy is an M3.. Scalextric.
Yeah best to steer clear of the cloth v leather wars, there are pros and cons to both. I had leather on my Mk6 by default, stuck with cloth on the Mk7 order.
VWA tend to do plain or fully loaded when they do bulk/unassigned orders sergioscirroco.. I remember when I was considering a Tiguan last year it was hard to get one that only had xenons, or xenons/leather - they all had the sunroof as well which I definitely did not want on the Tiguan.

Haha m3 great toy car.
My black mk6 R that I am selling to a friend just came up with message "low on oil" and is due for service in 2k or 2 months. Would that be normal. I better take it in for a service. can anyone here help or advice please

How do they justify running up 14km?
Can't think of any pre-delivery check that needs that much!
Interesting that my dealer offered to deliver my car to my home - I wonder if that is partly to cover up a bit of joyriding!
(I will pick it up from VW next week - can't wait to see the ODO reading!)
