Completely agree. I had a R32 and loved the twin centre pipes, never mind the awesome soundtrack. Quad pipes look naff and also like a bit of an after thought.

The problem with centre pipes is that you can't fit a tow bar.
Everyone has been complaining since the Mk4 R32 that they couldn't tow anything so they had to go with an s3 instead.
They finally move the exhausts and peope complain it has lost it's "look"

A tow bar is not an option on the golf r even when they do release the genuine one for the rest of the golf range...

Hi All, test drove the R on Saturday and was pretty impressed, but one thing that sticks in my head was after about 10 minutes (I dont think the car was dead cold when i 1st got in it though) the oil temp was reading 107................ive never seen that on my mk6 GTI !!
Anyway, I was offered a $33000 changeover on a stock R with DSG. I didnt haggle at all as i could sense that they werent discounting at all.........yet !..............so im still driving my GTI.

Hey has anyone had any luck with comp insurance? Picking my R up in a week and have only found AAMI had it on their books. $923 online quote in Melbourne. Anyone get better than this?

I went with Allianz. They didn't have it in their system either. Agreed to manually adjust the policy to reflect the 2014 model until the full details were available. $808 I think it was

Any recommendations for Melbourne tinters who can tint the R/GTI front passenger/driver windows and particularly the little quarter panel near the RV mirror cheers

Also wanting to source aluminium OEM look R dead pedal covers (had them on my GTI)

I had Allianz do a quote on my GTI and it was decent, but they suddenly invented a $2k theft excess (without tracking device) which never existed on my Mk6. Not sure if they're doing it on your policy, but forced me to consider alternatives.
