OK Just got a quote for the Audi S3 with the performance package and sunroof with metalic paint

S3-
Basic Price - $59900
Dealer Del - $ 3636
Reg/CTP - $647.15
Stamp Duty -$2037

The standard S3 without the performance package , metalic paint and sunroof is $ 69 790

My calculator adds those figures up to $66220

That said I also spoke to an Audi salesman in Geelong the other day who also said the S3 would start from 70k on road.
He also mentioned that the Audi Connect service (for Google Earth maps, etc as part of the Technology pack) would be arriving sometime next year as a paid subscription service so that would also be worth waiting for if you're into that sort of thing.

If that's starting to get too expensive the 1.8T Quattro A3 is also a compelling option. Starts at 50k, uses the wet clutch DSG6 instead of 7spd, has AWD, and you can spec a bunch of options.

Also while the S3 fuel rates promoted are fantastic, it's also worth noting many in the UK who've taken delivery are reporting around 25mpg when driving fast'n'furiously compared to the ~42mpg they get cruising on the motorway.

That figure of approx $66k drive away sounds correct for a base S3, as that was the drive away price on the list given to me from Audi Center Canberra.

Oh well they knocked back a cash offer of $68,000 on the Audi S3 with the performance pack and sunroof with metalic paint salesman said it would have to have a 7 as starting price .

Price they want is $74,210

If an optioned GTI is mid to late 50's and the optioned S3 is low to mid 70's then the optioned R will be what, mid 60's?

Decided to bite the bullet and pre ordered a 2014 Audi S3 With S performance pack , sunroof , window tinting in Misano red pearl effect Delivery mid May

The slight difference in price to the Upcoming Golf R in my eyes gave me a slightly nicer finished and manufactured car .

Dont concern i still have the VW Red polo GTI .

Yeah it gives me a break from driving my RX7 and it will be nice to be able to park it and forget about it the RX7 attracts way too much wrong type of attention both from cops and crooks after parts lol
