He also mentioned that the Audi Connect service (for Google Earth maps, etc as part of the Technology pack) would be arriving sometime next year as a paid subscription service so that would also be worth waiting for if you're into that sort of thing.
If that's starting to get too expensive the 1.8T Quattro A3 is also a compelling option. Starts at 50k, uses the wet clutch DSG6 instead of 7spd, has AWD, and you can spec a bunch of options.
Also while the S3 fuel rates promoted are fantastic, it's also worth noting many in the UK who've taken delivery are reporting around 25mpg when driving fast'n'furiously compared to the ~42mpg they get cruising on the motorway.
