Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Well the Audi RS3 was only just revealed a couple of days ago..... coincidence?
Could be a different limited edition model above the R?

Have to really wait and see what happens at the track and see how close we can get to that 12.2 figure...

Thought you would get better as well. DSG right?
You should be somewhat near me. 3.75 has been my best recorded 0-100 time and that was a slight incline of maybe 5%

That article is pooh! 2.2 litre engine? Where did that come from? Is the current R lacking a bottom end or something?
Virtually same hp is fair enough but how does that equate to a 3.9 time?
7 speed box I assume is the big one from the Audi S cars. If they are talking about the smaller one they are pissed.
Well let's wait and see...Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD

I had 7 gears on my 6R Polo Gti. I hated it. Changed gears way to often, was amazing to go back to a 6 speed. 7th gear at 70km/hr and a first gear that maxed out at 30km/hr was annoying when taking off from a corner..
Also agree that those performance figures are a load of ....

^Agreed, although much better with Guy_H's DSG tune.

The 7 speed DSG in the polo/golf's that run a dry clutch is completely different to the 7 speed that is offered in the new RS3. The 7 speed dry clutch is rated to only 250nm where the 7 speed dsg that is a wet clutch is rated to 500nm. Both are east west mounting transmissions

I guess it's better to lose a tad of power for the benefit of a much stronger gearbox.
