Autobild the German mag says that "insiders'' have said the new Golf will start at 16,500 Euros - cheaper than the current one. Look for a lower base price in OZ too.

Cool, can't wait to September. Will be tough deciding if I should upgrade to a normal MK7 Golf or go for a 2nd hand MK6 Golf R or just stick with what I've got and hope nothing breaks.

atleast we know sept 4th it is for world premier, cant wait to see what all about. just wonder if they'll have the gti released the same time too pleased to read about a panoramic tilt sunroof. but run flats ? hmmm not sure about that ! especially since the chasis shot in the teaser clearly shows wheel well in the boot for a space saver atleast ?

Just read a pre-release of Golf VII no mention of runflats at all.

GTI will most likely be revealed at Paris Motor Show.

I predict that Golf BlueMotion study, Golf blue-e-motion study and Golf Walter De Silva (WDS) edition will be shown next Tuesday/Wednesday or at Paris Show.

Wolfsburg, August 2012. At a length of 4,255 mm, the new Golf is now 56 mm longer than the previous model; similarly, its wheelbase has grown by 59 mm to 2,637 mm. Since the front wheels are also located 43 mm further forward, the interplay of the new dimensions

Will probably be an option for the slower cheaper cars, not really for the GTI. It's like how they listed Park Assist as a feature for the MK6, not every Mk6 car has it. Just showing the new breakthroughs made available.

yep noticed that too as mentioned so hope as suggested its not run flats for the GTI to save weight or something !

I would suggest that they will use runflats on the bluemotion models to reduce weight and consumption.

Cool, I was just stating no info yet on run flats in VW pre-release text file.

The images look like they were taken at the pre Golf launch workshop in Wolfsburg as the press kit does not have that image in it, just the ones released so far.
