Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The OBDeleven apps shouldn’t kill it! and take your credits plus not work and I can’t deactivate as it’s saying it’s Active. It’s 10:30am in Europe I reached out to human support again and still no answer. Be warned people don’t try these apps, could kill ya Lane Assist.

Now I might have to grovel to VW dealer to reset all Lane assist features $$$$$
As I said, the self test part of the OCA should have stopped implementation as soon as it recognized that you were attempting to force coding changes for a MLB platform car into a MQB platform car (even if this vehicle has a 3Q0980654H module). Did the OCA warn that the changes might not be compatible for this car?

As for grovelling to a dealer - I'm not sure if you are aware that VW keeps a complete copy of the software on every MQB platform car the rolls-off the assembly-line on its central server at Ingolstadt, Germany. The world-wide database is called FAZIT (Fahrzeuginformationen und zentrales Identifikationstool =Vehicle information and central identification tool)

So, probably at a cost approaching the annual budget of a small African nation - your grovelling request should be doable!

EDIT: thanks @dov_777 - yes, my bad!!! Of course reference to "A5" was the hex address of the module on the CAN network - not "Audi A5"

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

Thanks for your support. I’ve emailed their support help desk a more stronger email, asking for some sort of feedback! You can have an app available for Joe average to use to stuff ya car.

**** that’s not sounding promising either. So literally it’s a lemon because a stupid app.

Can an VW ecu reprogrammer fix the issue? This is very stressful.

As anyone tried this app in workshop OBD11? Could this reset coding as it says?
                Multimedia Restart

                Current value 0 credits

                About app
Reboot the vehicle's multimedia system after coding changes or when the system freezes
                Functions
                Restart the multimedia unit

I thought support would’ve told us to try it if it would work. Still haven’t heard back from support all afternoon/night.

That will only restart your MIB unit, won't do much to any coding changes.

Well looking through the APPS for my Kamiq almost all of them have a white bar at the top of the instructions with a"SELECT VALUE" in it, so that if you have enabled something and it isnt working you go back into it and select "off" and it reverses what it has done. Has always worked for me as it usually doesnt work if car hasnt got necessary hardware or access to modules etc. If it doesnt work the little circle doesnt go green.

Sudden thought are you using an Android phone or a Devils Spawn Iphone piece of crap.

Was the same in the Tiguan and I made a few muckups early on before i got into coding properly. However the APP always reversed its self and nothing was amiss. So dont know why it hasnt got that in the APP.

So OBD11 refunded me my used credits but still haven’t heard anything from support.

When checking lane assist plugged into car it had option to return to original setting, this wasn’t the app I used but will it return to original settings again. The app I used still only has active, so can’t reverse. Don’t use it people it’s not worth 400 credits and didn’t even work.

What phone are you using is the most important question Unless you answer that there can be differing results and views on the problem

Once again I’ve asked OBD11 for human support and crickets! Northside Euros said they can fix on VCDS but the VCDS guru is on leave till August! Just my luck. It’s booked in on 13th August to hopefully return it back to normal again. Fingers crossed!🤞

Get an Android phone and try it as Iphones are limited in what they can do.
The whole system was built for Android and ported across to Apple and never has worked as well.

So while you muck around with a semi crippled phone you could do it properly on a real one.

Even an Old S6 like I use sometimes is better that an any Iphone. Until you try that you are just whistling in the wind

iPhone has worked in the past for us on other OBDeleven apps just not this one. So trying an android phone and wasting another 400 credits with no guarantee it will work either, so I’m still sitting in the same boat. OBD11 should be supporting me to rectify the issue and no response from them still. Not even a simple email saying we’re looking into it.
