  • Mk7.5 1.4ltr golf wagon mods

    Hi all.

Just picked up a my18 mk7.5 1.4ltr golf wagon to replace my daily driven up!

I want to do a few mods to it and get it tuned. But I am looking for an exhaust system for it and I can't find any wagon systems.

They can't be the same as a hatch system can they. Or do you just buy a system for a hatch then add a bit more pipe to join to the cat pipe.

Also interested in doing a discover pro upgrade and possibly a active info display. Because I do a fair bit of driving for work and with some hobbies I do. I already have a discover system.

Is the mk8 active dash the same as the mk7.5? Or has any one retro fitted it as I've found a mk8 screen cheap.

Is it all just plug in then take to have the protection mode removed? I'm just interested in buying it from a wrecker and fitting up, not really looking to spend 3k on the retrofit kit.

    Thanks all.

Intake from here (worth about 10KW/20NM):
MST 2015 VW Golf MK7 1.4 TSI Cold Air Intake System (VW
    Volkswagen EA211 1.2/1.4 turbo intake pipe (VW-MK70
    2015 VW Golf Mk7 1.4 Tsi Inlet Pipe (VW-MK706H)

You can also add a blow-off valve. Forge makes 1 and there are cheaper copies of the Forge on Ebay. I have a spare if you are interested and want to save on shipping.

Harding Performance has a tune. 138KW, 290NM Harding Performance ECU Software - 1.4 TSI MQB - Harding Performance

Exhaust will have to be a custom job I'm afraid. Hatch exhaust does not fit, nor does the 1.8TSI/R wagon exhausts due to being AWD.

BTW, did you sell the Up! ? Want your seats LOL

      Kristian: Hi

Apropos of your desire to replace the clock-based dashboard for an AID version, alas I very much doubt that it's possible to retrofit a mk8 dashboard module into a mk7.5 because the former has a MQB-evo platform build and the latter has a MQB platform.

The difference between the 2 x platforms is more than just the "evo" tag for the AID module because of the following:
      • On the mk7.5, the AID module is driven by VW's MOST (Modular Infotainment System) protocol - which is a fiber-optic based communication system.
      • On the mk8, the optical fiber MOST bus is no longer used (except in rare markets where a TV module is installed). Instead, the mk8 uses a new Migration CAN bus - which is based on an entirely different system (it's a 500 KB/sec comms facility over a twisted-wire-pair)

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

        Hey sharkie.

Nah I haven't sold it yet. It got swipped by a guy on a bike and i am currently fixing it. Just swapping a door over on it.

I brought this mk7.5 to replace it because I missing a little bit of power.

Not sure what I am doing with it yet.

I'll shoot you a message about the blow off for it.

Thanks. I hoped it my have been possible because i have seen a upgrade to the climate control from mk7 to mk8 style.

Would have been good as I saw a mk8 aid dash for $120 from a wrecker.

I am going to have a look around at some mk7.5 at wreckers to see what I can find for a discover pro radio and aid.
