Any way to activate both rear fog lights (left and right) on 2017 Golf R Wagon

I have a 2017 golf R wagon with LED tail lights, and only the right side fog light activates. Which is by design. However, i was wondering does anybody know if the left side has LED's installed and if it can be activated via OBD11?

I know LA72 is the right side fog light, but cannot find anything online about which function is the left side fog light.
Ive coded all other options for brake lights, parking etc. Just want to have dual fog lights if I can.

Isnt the left side your reverse light? I had a similar issue in my Mk6 R and I wanted twin reverse lights and to delete the fog light. So I bought a new rear light housing from a LHD market and fitted it, then just had to wire it in. In the end, the fog light was removed and twin reverse lights worked without an issue.

@wookie: Yes, you are 101% correct!! Here is the wiring diagram for the rear fog-lights on LED tail-lights for both LHD and RHD cars:


So, notice the pin label on J519 (which VCDS calls "BCM" and OBD11 calls "central electrics module"). Socket A, pin 72 is the pin that is controlled by the Leuchte-set that you refer-to as "LA72". Also note: although my drawing shows 2 x White/Yellow wires - there is only ONE wire for a given drive-side car (the drawing is illustrative ONLY)

What happens is that the same wiring is installed on Golf mk7s regardless of whether the car has left-Hand drive, or right-hand drive. The ONLY difference is that the white/yellow wire terminates on the tail-light fitting that matches the drive side. This means that "LA72" is used to control the rear fogs regardless of drive side (albeit that "Yankee" model mk7.5s have a different arrangement)

And to answer your specific question - alas NO, there are no active components in the passenger-side fog-light position in Aussie models
