Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Spark Plugs for Mk7 92 TSI VW Golf

    Hello,
I am wondering what people’s recommendations are for spark plugs on a 2015 MY16 VW golf with the 92TSI 1.4 engine?
    Thanks in advance

I just checked 2x different sites where I buy parts from and both list the Bosch Y5KPP332 double platinum spark plugs for the 1.4TSI engine.

      Thank you so much.
I’m guessing these are OEM quality?
Also which socket should I use?

VW dont make spark plugs. They outsource parts like these (and many many others) to companies like Bosch to manufacture. So these are OEM quality and likely to be identical to what's currently fitted to your car.

As for what size socket - im not sure, but its likely to be a 16mm.

I'm using the NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plug - PZKER7A8EGS and they are great!
